Overview

Brewfest Bomber

Game iconBrewfest Bomber is an epic flying mount shaped like a barrel-bodied helicopter, added in patch 11.2 of The War Within expansion. The mount drops from the Game iconKeg-Shaped Treasure Chest, which can be obtained once per day for killing Coren Direbrew during the annual Brewfest event. The item description reads: "Careful not to imbibe the ammunition."

The Brewfest Bomber is the third mount available from the Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest, alongside the Game iconGreat Brewfest Kodo and the Game iconSwift Brewfest Ram. The mount was originally named "Brewfest Keg Bomber", but on September 24, 2025 it was renamed to "Brewfest Bomber".

Why You Want This Mount

  • Unique appearance — a flying barrel-helicopter styled after Brewfest. One of the most fun and recognizable mounts in the game
  • Ground and flying — the mount adapts to your riding skill. On the ground it grants +60% or +100% speed, in flight up to +310% depending on skill level
  • Bad luck protection — the mount uses a bad luck protection system: each unsuccessful attempt increases the drop chance
  • Available from level 10 — the minimum requirement to obtain it, suitable even for low-level characters
  • Account-wide — once obtained, the mount appears in the collection of all your characters
  • Limited availability — the mount can only be obtained during Brewfest (about two weeks a year), which makes it rare and valuable

Brewfest Dates

Brewfest is an annual in-game event that takes place in late September to early October. In 2025, the festival ran from September 23 to October 9. The event lasts roughly 17 days. The dates may shift slightly each year, but they always fall within this period.

During the festival, holiday camps appear outside the capitals of both factions: near Ironforge for the Alliance and near Orgrimmar for the Horde.

How to Get the Mount

Step 1 — Open the Group Finder

Press the I key (default) to open the Group Finder window. During Brewfest, a special holiday boss appears in the list of available dungeons — Coren Direbrew.

Step 2 — Queue for Coren Direbrew

Select "Coren Direbrew" in the holiday bosses section and click "Join". The system automatically forms a group of 5 players and teleports you straight into the Grim Guzzler inside Blackrock Depths.

Step 3 — Kill Coren Direbrew

The fight against Coren Direbrew is simple and takes less than a minute. The boss has basic attacks and summons adds, but poses no threat at current character levels. After killing the boss, you receive the Game iconKeg-Shaped Treasure Chest.

Step 4 — Open the Chest

Open the Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest from your inventory. The Game iconBrewfest Bomber mount has a chance to be inside. If the mount doesn't drop — repeat the next day.

Step 5 — Repeat Daily

The mount can only drop on the first boss kill of the day, account-wide. Repeat kills on the same day give no chance at the mount. Log in every day for the entire festival.

Other Mounts from the Treasure Chest

In addition to the Bomber, two more mounts can drop from the Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest:

Mount Item ID Type
Game iconGreat Brewfest Kodo 37828 Ground and flying
Game iconSwift Brewfest Ram 33977 Ground and flying

All three mounts drop independently of one another. If you already have one of them, the chances for the others do not change.

Farming Optimization

Maximizing Attempts

  • One attempt per day — the mount is tied to the first kill of Coren Direbrew of the day, account-wide. Farming on alts within a single account gives no additional attempts
  • 17 attempts per festival — by killing the boss daily for the entire Brewfest period, you get roughly 17 attempts
  • Bad luck protection — the bad luck protection system increases the drop chance with each unsuccessful attempt, raising the likelihood of obtaining it by the end of the festival

How Long One Attempt Takes

The entire process — from joining the queue to receiving the chest — takes 2–5 minutes:

  • Waiting in queue: 1–3 minutes (depends on role; tanks and healers get in faster)
  • Boss fight: less than 1 minute
  • Looting and leaving: less than 1 minute

Probability Calculation

With a base drop chance of ~5–10% and 17 attempts per festival:

  • At a 5% chance: the probability of getting the mount during the festival is ~58%
  • At a 10% chance: the probability of getting the mount during the festival is ~83%
  • Factoring in bad luck protection, the real odds are higher than these calculations

If the mount doesn't drop this year — your attempts reset, and next year the festival starts over.

Tips

1

Don't miss a single day — you only have about 17 attempts per year. Every missed day is a lost chance at the mount that cannot be made up

2

Set a reminder — create a daily reminder on your phone or calendar for the festival period so you don't forget to grab the chest

3

Play a tank or healer — the queue for these roles is significantly shorter (often instant), which saves time

4

Combine with other festival activities — while you're in the game, complete the festival's daily quests to earn inv_misc_coin_01Brewfest Prize Tokens. Tokens can be spent on toys, transmog, and pets

5

The first kill of the year gives a quest — on your first kill of Coren Direbrew for the season, he hands out the quest "Direbrew's Dire Brew" for 40 prize tokens. Don't forget to turn it in

6

Don't get discouraged — if the mount doesn't drop this year, Brewfest returns every year. Sooner or later luck will smile on you
