Get Brewfest Ram mount
Overview

The
Brewfest Ram is a rare ground mount tied to the annual Brewfest event. It is a brown ram with festive tack and kegs strapped to its sides. The mount was added in patch 2.2.0 "Voice Chat!" and was purchased from vendors within the festival grounds.
The Brewfest Ram is one of the rarest mounts in the game: only players who completed a special quest during the very first Brewfest in 2007 gained access to purchasing it. From 2008 onward, the ability to unlock the purchase was permanently removed from the game.

Why You Want This Mount
- Extremely rare — available only to players who completed the "Brew of the Month" related quest during Brewfest 2007
- Unique model — a brown ram with festival tack and kegs, distinct from the standard dwarven rams
- Collector's rarity status — one of the few mounts permanently removed from access for new players
- Suitable for both factions — available to both Alliance and Horde characters
- Don't confuse it with the
Swift Brewfest Ram, which can still be obtained
How to Obtain — the Historical Chain (2007)
The Brewfest Ram was purchased from vendors within the Brewfest event grounds. However, before buying the mount, you first had to unlock access to it through a special chain of actions.
Step-by-Step Instructions (valid for 2007)
- During the first Brewfest (October 2007), players earned Brewfest Prize Tokens by completing daily tasks and taking part in the event's mini-games
- For 600 tokens you could buy the "Brewfest Hand Stamp" item from one of the vendors:
- Belbi Quikswitch — Alliance, festival grounds in Dun Morogh
- Blix Fixwidget — Horde, festival grounds in Durotar
- The hand stamp started the quest Brewfest Riding Rams, which had to be turned in to the ram vendor
- After turning in the quest, the character gained permanent access to purchasing Brewfest rams
- The mount itself was bought for 10 gold from a vendor:
- Pol Amberstill — Alliance, festival grounds in Dun Morogh
- Driz Tumblequick — Horde, festival grounds in Durotar
Current Availability Status
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| New players | The mount is unavailable. The hand stamp was removed from sale in patch 2.4.3 (July 2008), and the quest was closed |
| 2007 veterans | If you turned in the hand stamp quest in 2007, you can buy the ram every year during Brewfest from the same vendors for 10 gold |
Important: The "Brewfest Hand Stamp" was available only during the very first Brewfest in 2007. From 2008 onward, the event's reward system was completely reworked, and the stamp was removed from sale permanently. In patch 2.4.3, the ability to unlock the purchase of this mount was definitively removed.
Requirements
- A character that turned in the "Brewfest Riding Rams" quest during the 2007 event
- An active Brewfest event (held annually, usually from late September to early October)
- 10 gold to purchase the mount from the vendor
Where to Find the Vendors
If you are one of those rare players who unlocked the purchase in 2007, here is how to reach the ram vendors.
Alliance — Pol Amberstill
- Head to Ironforge
- Exit the city through the main gates into Dun Morogh
- The Brewfest grounds are located right at the entrance to Ironforge
- Find the vendor Pol Amberstill and buy the mount for 10 gold
Horde — Driz Tumblequick
- Head to Orgrimmar
- Exit through the gates into Durotar
- The Brewfest grounds are located near the entrance to Orgrimmar
- Find the vendor Driz Tumblequick and buy the mount for 10 gold
Alternative — the Swift Brewfest Ram
If you did not take part in Brewfest 2007, the regular Brewfest Ram is unavailable to you. However, you can obtain its upgraded version — the
Swift Brewfest Ram. This mount is available to all players of both factions.
How to Obtain the Swift Ram
- Wait for the Brewfest event (approximate dates: late September — early October)
- Open the Dungeon Finder (the "I" key)
- Go to the "Holiday Dungeons" tab
- Select the fight against Coren Direbrew and queue up
- You will be teleported to Blackrock Depths, to the Grim Guzzler tavern
- Defeat Coren Direbrew
- The first daily
Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest has a small chance to drop the Swift Brewfest Ram
Drop Chance
The chance to get the Swift Ram from the first daily chest is around 1%. Since 2023, the game has had a bad-luck protection system: if the mount does not drop over several days in a row, its drop chance gradually increases.
Tips
Check your mount journal. If you have been playing since 2007, open your mount collection and check whether you have access to the Brewfest Ram. Many veterans forget about quests they completed long ago.
Don't confuse the two rams. The
Brewfest Ram is the regular version from 2007. The
Swift Brewfest Ram is the epic version that drops from Coren Direbrew and is available to everyone.
Farm the Swift Ram on several characters. Each character gets its own daily chest after defeating Coren Direbrew — that means extra chances at the mount.
Use all the event days. Brewfest lasts about two weeks. Running the boss daily on as many characters as possible greatly increases your chances at the Swift Ram.
This mount is ground only. The Brewfest Ram does not fly. Its movement speed depends on your riding skill.
