Get Bronze Helicid mount
Overview

Bronze Helicid is an uncommon ground mount added to World of Warcraft in the Shadowlands expansion (patch 9.2 "Eternity's End"). It is one of the "snails" of Zereth Mortis, with a metallic shell of a bronze hue.
The mount cannot be bought or dropped directly from a boss — it must be assembled at the Protoform Synthesis Forge in Zereth Mortis. Assembly requires
Schematic: Bronze Helicid, a
Helicid Lattice, an
Unalloyed Bronze Ingot and 350 Genesis Motes. All of these are gathered directly in the Zereth Mortis zone.
Why you want this mount
- Unique snail model — the Bronze Helicid uses the exclusive model of the Zereth Mortis creators and stands out with its metallic shell shine among the standard lizards and wolves
- Maximum ground speed — +60% or +100% speed depending on your riding skill
- Entirely in your hands — unlike drop-chance mounts, the Bronze Helicid is guaranteed to be assembled as soon as you find all four components
- Available account-wide — once obtained, the mount unlocks for every character on your account, regardless of faction and class
- Part of the Protoform Synthesis collection — together with
Serenade and a dozen other Zereth Mortis creature mounts, you can build a complete mini-collection while knocking out patch 9.2 achievements along the way
How to obtain
The main path is to unlock the Protoform Synthesis system, gather all components and complete the quest Schematic Reassimilation: Bronze Helicid at the Protoform Synthesis Forge.
- Complete the Zereth Mortis campaign at least up to chapter 3 and unlock the Cypher Console to gain access to Protoform Synthesis
- Research the "Dealic Understanding" branch, and then "Sopranian Understanding", to unlock crafting pets and mounts at the Forge
- Obtain
Schematic: Bronze Helicid from the
Tribute of the Enlightened Elders, awarded for completing the weekly task "Patterns Within Patterns" - Gather 350 Genesis Motes by killing mobs in Zereth Mortis
- Farm a
Helicid Lattice from the zone's helicid snails - Obtain an
Unalloyed Bronze Ingot from Olea's Supplies - Head to the Protoform Synthesis Forge on the Antecedent Isle (coordinates roughly 46, 8) and use the schematic — after a short quest the mount is added to your collection
Unlocking Protoform Synthesis
Before tackling the components, make sure the Protoform Synthesis system itself is available to you. Without it, the Forge will not respond to the schematic.
- Complete the Shadowlands storyline up to patch 9.2 and open the Zereth Mortis zone via the Oribos quest
- Finish chapter 3 of the "Secrets of the First Ones" campaign — you will gain access to the Cypher Console
- Research "Dealic Understanding" — this unlocks pet crafting at the Forge
- Then study "Sopranian Understanding" and complete the "Find Tal" quest chain to unlock mount crafting
- Additionally level up "Metric" and "Aealic Understanding" and earn the achievement "The Ends Justify the Means" — without it the Requisites Originator will not talk to you about the bronze ingot
Where to get the Bronze Helicid schematic
The schematic drops from the weekly box "Tribute of the Enlightened Elders", obtained for completing the quest Patterns Within Patterns in Zereth Mortis.
- Pick up the task from Pocopoc at the Enlightened Camp. It requires you to close a certain number of world quests, loot treasures and kill rare creatures
- At the start of the patch the quest reset every 3 days, but already in patch 9.2.5 Blizzard made it fully weekly
- Inside the box you independently receive one of many schematics. If the desired schematic isn't there, set the box aside and open it on an alt or the following week
- To boost the chance and to access the box at Revered/Exalted levels, build up reputation with The Enlightened — this speeds up quest progress
Where to get materials
Genesis Motes
Genesis Motes are the simplest component. They drop from any Zereth Mortis mobs, including the trash around the daily quests. The best spot farm is the area around coordinates 43, 76, where Ravenous Scavengers and Maddened Swarmers constantly spawn from portals. In an active session you can pull 600–900 units at a time there, especially in a group.
Helicid Lattice
Helicid Lattice is a common drop from helicid snails across the zone. The easiest way to farm it is in spots of dense clustering, for example in the fields around the Resonant Peaks. The Lattice can also drop from Olea's Supplies, which stand at the mana nodes throughout Zereth Mortis.
Unalloyed Bronze Ingot
Unalloyed Bronze Ingot is the rarest component. It drops with a low chance (about 10%) from the Requisites Originator in the hidden room of the Repository of Requisites. To get there:
- Find the Ground Cache at the foot of the Resonant Peaks (approximate coordinates 49.6; 31.0), guarded by a Cradlekeeper
- To the left of the entrance, find a rune surrounded by golden spheres and containers and activate it — the Repository of Requisites will open
- Interact with the Requisites Originator and choose the fourth dialogue option "Restore genesis potential"
- You are guaranteed to receive 20–25 Genesis Motes and, with a small chance, the ingot. The next attempt is available only after the weekly reset
Tips
Spread the weekly box across several characters — every alt that has finished patch 9.2 and unlocked "Patterns Within Patterns" gives another roll on the schematic. If you have several free characters, the time to collect specifically the bronze schematic shrinks dramatically
Don't forget the ingot's weekly cooldown — the Requisites Originator gives the ingot with about a 10% chance, so it's best to visit it on every alt that has completed "The Ends Justify the Means". One lucky roll and the main component is in the bag
Stock up on the Lattice in advance — the lattice is cheap on the auction house on some servers, but it can also be quickly farmed while building reputation with The Enlightened. Don't sell the extras: they are also needed for other helicid mounts, such as
Serenade
Combine Genesis Mote farming with quests — don't stand purposefully in one place for hours. During daily world quests, reputation traps and rare hunting you'll already gather a sufficient amount of motes
Check your reputation with The Enlightened — the higher the rank, the more often the key items in the box refresh and the more bonus rewards "Patterns Within Patterns" gives at Exalted
Note that the "Patterns Within Patterns" quest is marked as deprecated in recent patches — it still works on live WoW servers, but in the future Blizzard may replace it with a different mechanic. If you plan to collect the helicids, it's better not to delay
