MoP Classic Restoration Druid — Guide (Phase 5)
About the Class
Restoration Druid is a healer who keeps the raid alive through periodic healing. The core of their healing is rolling
Rejuvenation,
Lifebloom and
Wild Growth, topped off with AoE healing from mushrooms and the
Mastery: Harmony mastery, which boosts periodic effects through direct heals.
This is the most mobile healer in the game: almost their entire core kit is instant spells. And it is the only class with a battle resurrection in
Rebirth.
Strengths
- Instant
Rejuvenation,
Wild Growth and
Wild Mushroom let you heal while constantly on the move. - Extra mobility through
Displacer Beast and Travel Form. - Very mana-efficient tank healing: three stacks of Lifebloom plus free
Regrowth casts from
Omen of Clarity procs. - Periodic effects can be spread out to 40 yards — raid coverage is excellent.
- The only battle resurrection in the game.
- Powerful raid cooldowns:
Tranquility and
Incarnation: Tree of Life.
Weaknesses
- Loses out to shield healers where incoming damage is low.
- Burns through mana easily if you spread periodic effects carelessly.
- Responds poorly to sudden damage spikes: periodic healing doesn't heal instantly.
- Requires ramping up in advance, before the damage window.
- Heavily reliant on haste breakpoints — without them it feels sluggish.
Stat Priority
- 1Intellect
- 2Haste (up to the 3043 breakpoint, then up to 5176)
- 3Spirit
- 4Mastery
- 5Critical Strike rating
Haste breakpoints add extra ticks to periodic effects, so reaching them is more valuable than stacking Mastery. Haste between breakpoints does nothing — reallocate it into Spirit or Mastery. Take just enough Spirit to have the mana to last the fight.
