Fangs of the Devourer — Transmog Set Guide

Fangs of the Devourer is the artifact weapon for Assassination rogues, introduced in the Legion expansion. It is a pair of one-handed daggers: the main hand and off hand are equipped together as a single artifact. Each blade is forged from the tooth of a colossal demonic hound — serrated bone set into a massive hilt, with dark crimson glints running along the edge.

In the story, the Devourer was Sargeras's chained hound. After the beast was slain, its fangs were turned into deadly daggers wielded by the assassin Akaari Shadowgore.

Like all Legion artifacts, the Fangs of the Devourer are not a single appearance but a whole family of color variants and alternate models. The modern transmogrification system lets you equip each dagger separately, so the artifact appearance can be applied to any rogue daggers, not just the artifact weapon itself.

The base appearance of the Fangs of the Devourer is granted by the artifact's starting quest, Fangs of the Devourer. To get it, you must play a rogue and choose the Assassination specialization, after which the class campaign leads you to the Shadowgore Citadel in the Twisting Nether. There you fight Akaari Shadowgore and claim the daggers for yourself.

Further appearances and color variants are unlocked through the Legion artifact system:

• Classic appearance — the base model of the daggers. Additional color variants are awarded for leveling up the artifact and earning the achievement Fighting with Style: Classic.
• Upgraded appearance — unlocked by advancing the rogue class hall and completing related campaign quests.
• Valorous appearance — a reward for completing the long "Balance of Power" quest chain, available after the Legion campaign.
• War-torn appearance — an appearance earned through PvP achievements: battleground and arena victories in Legion.
• Challenging appearance — granted for winning the Mage Tower challenge on a rogue. After the Mage Tower was reworked, the set of rewards changed, and the challenge now grants an armor set rather than the first dagger color variant; the blade appearance itself remains unchanged.

The artifact's hidden appearance — "Poisoned Fangs" — deserves special attention. It is unlocked by the item Tome of Otherworldly Venoms. Using the tome unlocks the "Poisoned Fangs" look for the Fangs of the Devourer.

Where to look for the tome:

• The item has a small chance to drop from Lei Shen's burial troves in the solo scenario "The Vault of the Thunder King."
• Access to the scenario is granted by the Key to the Palace of Lei Shen — the keyring can be found in the lower halls of the rogue class hall.
• With the key, you speak to the scenario's overseer, then run the gauntlet and collect as many burial trove keys as possible to open more chests at the end.
• The tome is bound to the character on pickup and is intended for rogues only.
• Additional color variants of the hidden appearance are unlocked by the achievement Fighting with Style: Hidden.

Unlocking the hidden appearance and then clearing Legion dungeons on a rogue also opens a challenging branch of color variants — its progress is tracked by the achievement Fighting with Style: Challenging.

The Fangs of the Devourer are themselves a set of several appearances, so the "recolors" here are different variants of the same artifact. All of them apply to both daggers.
