Get Felsteel Reaper
Overview

Felsteel Reaper is a massive two-handed axe from the The Burning Crusade expansion. The weapon is forged from felsteel, which gives the blade its distinctive tint — the recognizable style of Outland's blacksmithing work. The axe's broad head looks heavy and predatory.
The axe can be used by Warriors, Death Knights, and Paladins. Its stats have long been obsolete, so today it is crafted purely for its appearance for transmogrification.
Source
The appearance does not drop from bosses directly — it is a Blacksmithing crafted item.
- Profession: Blacksmithing, requires skill 365. The finished axe is bind on equip, so it can be crafted to order by another player or bought on the auction house.
- Recipe —
Plans: Felsteel Reaper. This is a random drop: the plans drop from various Outland enemies, so the most convenient way is to look for them on the auction house. - Crafting reagents:
- 10 ×
Felsteel Bar. - 10 ×
Khorium Bar. - 8 ×
Primal Might. - 2 ×
Primal Nether.
- 10 ×
If you do not have Blacksmithing, the easiest option is to find the finished axe or the plans themselves on the auction house: Outland materials have long been cheap, so a crafting order costs very little.
A Good Visual Match For
- Suits plate sets in green-black and dark-steel tones — the greenish blade supports the "felsteel" theme.
- Looks great in builds tied to the Legion and the demonic aesthetic of Outland.
- Harmonizes with Death Knight sets thanks to its grim metallic tint.
- Stands out against light "paladin" sets, adding a sinister green accent.
Tips
The simplest route is the auction house: either grab a finished axe, or buy the plans and order the craft from a blacksmith.
The plans are a random drop with no specific boss, so farming them deliberately is inefficient; it is cheaper to wait for them to appear on the auction house.
All reagents are gathered in the Outland zones: ores and primal elements have long been cheap and are often sold in bulk.
At max level (90 in Midnight), farming materials in Outland is fast and risk-free — the old zones have long posed no challenge.
The finished axe is bind on equip: if you craft it on a blacksmith alt, mail the item to the character you need before equipping it.
