Firethorn Mindslicer is a one-handed sword from the Firelands raid, which debuted in the Cataclysm expansion. It is an elegant blade with a thin curved edge that looks as though smoldering embers and tongues of flame run across it, while the guard and pommel are kept in a scorching orange-red palette. The model belongs to the fiery weapon collection of Firelands and glows strikingly in the dark, so it looks especially impressive on classes with fire spells.

This is a caster-stat weapon, and in terms of power it has long been irrelevant. Today the sword is interesting purely for its appearance: the fiery theme and tidy silhouette make it one of the most expressive one-handed swords of the fire aesthetic.

The appearance of the Firethorn Mindslicer is obtained in the Firelands raid. The blade drops randomly from almost every boss in the raid — the only exception is the final boss Ragnaros, who does not drop this sword.

The same appearance is also available through the Firelands raid in Timewalking mode: during the corresponding event, the raid bosses can likewise drop this sword. This gives you another weekly chance to hunt for the appearance if your regular runs do not yield the drop.
