Fist of Molten Fury — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Fist of Molten Fury is an epic one-handed fist weapon added to World of Warcraft in The Burning Crusade expansion. It is a compact melee weapon with a red-hot, fiery finish: the blades look as though they were poured from molten metal and give off a warm orange-red glow.
The item is part of the two-piece "Fists of Fury" set of fist blades, paired with the matching
Claw of Molten Fury. Its item level is 42 and it requires character level 30, so the weapon is easy to wield even during early leveling. Since The Burning Crusade content has long been outdated, the blade is valued today mainly as a transmog: its fiery model looks great in outfits built around fire and elemental themes.
Source
The weapon is a rare drop from the trash mobs of the Hyjal Summit raid, located in the Caverns of Time in Tanaris.
- It is a 25-player, The Burning Crusade-level raid with five bosses, the last of which is Archimonde.
- Before the first four bosses, you fight through eight waves of trash mobs; it is from these waves that the weapon drops with a small chance.
- This is loot from regular mobs rather than a guaranteed boss drop, so the blade may not appear in a single run.
- The drop chance is low, and the farm is meant for repeated runs.
The content is long outdated and is easily soloable at the level 90 cap in Midnight. The raid entrance is in the Caverns of Time: follow the path north past the night elf glaive throwers to the raid portal. A separate access quest chain is no longer required.
Alternatives
The "Fists of Fury" set includes a matching blade with the same fiery model:
Claw of Molten Fury — the second item of the set, dropping from the same waves of trash mobs in the raid.
Both blades use the very same appearance model, so for a matched look it is enough to collect any combination of these two items. There are no other known color variants of this particular model; similar fist blades by silhouette can be browsed on the item's page on
Wowhead.
Who It Suits Visually
- Suits fire- and flame-themed outfits thanks to its red-hot orange-red finish.
- Harmonizes with sets in dark-red and charcoal-black palettes, enhancing the contrast with the glow of the blades.
- Looks great paired with the
Claw of Molten Fury for a symmetrical dual-blade look. - Contrasts with light or icy armor, creating a bright accent on the weapon.
Tips
1
It is convenient to farm solo at max level: the raid clears quickly, with only the length of the trash waves slowing you down.
2
The eight waves before the bosses come in order and take up the bulk of a run, so plan time for a full clear.
3
Since this is a rare drop from regular mobs, repeat your runs — the raid can be done regularly.
4
Both blades of the set drop from the same waves, so farming works toward the matched pair right away.
5
It is most convenient to farm on classes with high speed for clearing large numbers of targets, to get through the waves faster.
6
The raid entrance is in the Caverns of Time; you can reach the Caverns through Tanaris or via portals from major cities.
