Get Flail of Balletic Carnage
Overview

Flail of Balletic Carnage is an epic one-handed mace from the Shadowlands expansion, added in patch 9.2. It is a massive crushing weapon with a heavy spiked head and a dark metallic handle, styled in the grim gray-steel palette of the Maw.
The model belongs to the one-handed mace class and suits any class able to wield crushing weapons — warriors, paladins, shamans, rogues, and death knights. In transmog it is prized for its brutal, spiked silhouette that reads well in "dark" themed sets.
Source
The mace is awarded for the Dune Dominance achievement in the Zereth Mortis zone — the final location of Shadowlands.
- How to obtain: complete the Dune Dominance achievement by defeating a set of rare enemies across the Zereth Mortis zone.
- Difficulty: this is the open world, so no separate raid or dungeon is required.
- The achievement reward is an arsenal with a weapon set that includes this mace, so the appearance is added to your collection right away.
- Group or solo: the rare enemies in Zereth Mortis can be soloed at the current maximum level.
- Attempt limit: the achievement is completed once per character, but the rare foes have their own respawn timers.
To reach Zereth Mortis, you need to unlock the zone through the Shadowlands story campaign in patch 9.2. Once unlocked, the location is accessible directly through the Shadowlands teleport network and the portals from Oribos. The rare enemies for the achievement are scattered across the map, and some of them do not spawn every time, so the collection can take several play sessions.
Alternatives
This mace has no known color variants — no separate recolor palette was released for the model. If only the silhouette of a heavy, spiked one-handed mace matters to you, look at other crushing weapons from Shadowlands locations: they are styled in the same grim gray-steel palette and pair well with similar sets.
Who It Suits Visually
- Fits sets in a dark gray-steel palette — for example, plate sets from Shadowlands dungeons and raids.
- Harmonizes with "infernal" and grim styled looks thanks to the spiked head.
- Looks great in a dual-wield setup for warriors and death knights using two one-handed maces.
- Contrasts with light ceremonial armor — a divisive but striking choice for a brutal look.
Tips
The optimal class for clearing the rares is a paladin or a demon hunter thanks to their high movement speed across the zone.
Mark all the needed rare enemies on the map in advance: some of them do not spawn every day, and the hunt drags on.
The achievement is completed with a single set of kills, so finish off the remaining rares as they appear.
The reward arrives automatically upon completing the achievement — there is no need to look for the item separately.
In a single trip to Zereth Mortis it is convenient to combine hunting rares with farming the local currency and transmog.
The mace appearance is bound to the account through the appearance collection, so once obtained it is available to all your characters.
