Flamelash's Fiery Spike — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Flamelash's Fiery Spike is an epic one-handed dagger from the anniversary Blackrock Depths raid, which Blizzard brought back in a revamped form alongside The War Within (patch 11.0.5). It is a short blade forged in the image of fire elementals: the edge resembles a white-hot claw, and a smoldering glow radiates from the hilt. The model captures the theme of the Firelands and the Dark Iron clan's dungeons perfectly.
The dagger is available to melee fighters — rogues, druids, demon hunters, and enhancement shamans. The item carries an equip effect,
Fiery Spike: melee attacks have a chance to ignite the target, dealing periodic fire damage over 30 seconds. For transmogrification, the appearance is what matters — the burning silhouette of the blade — which is why the dagger is prized as a standalone visual element for fiery looks.
Source
Flamelash's Fiery Spike drops from Ambassador Flamelash, the seventh boss of the Blackrock Depths raid. This is the same fiery emissary from the classic dungeon, but the raid version has an expanded set of mechanics.
- The raid runs on three difficulties: Raid Finder, Normal, and Heroic.
- The loot level depends on difficulty: roughly 584–593 in Raid Finder, 597–606 on Normal, and 610–619 on Heroic.
- The dagger's appearance is identical on all difficulties — any version works for transmog.
- The fight has a weekly loot lockout: each boss drops loot once per week per character.
- Ambassador Flamelash summons portals to the Firelands and casts
Magma Sweep on the current tank — frontal cones that must be sidestepped.
If the dagger does not drop, it can be bought with the event currency. Each raid boss yields several
Timewarped Relic Coffer Keys; once you gather 40 keys, you exchange them for a specific item from the vendors in Tanaris. This is a guaranteed way to get exactly the appearance you want without relying on a random drop.
The Blackrock Depths raid is event content: it opens for the duration of the annual World of Warcraft anniversary celebration. The full set of difficulties with key vendors was available during the 20th anniversary; in later anniversaries the raid returned in a trimmed form. If the event is inactive, you must wait for the next celebration.
Who It Suits Visually
- Suits fiery looks built around the theme of the Firelands and flame elementals.
- Harmonizes with plate and leather sets in a red-orange palette — for example, with fire-themed armor from the same Blackrock Depths raid.
- Looks great paired with a second fiery dagger — the combination of this spike and a matching burning needle creates a cohesive "flaming" look for dual wield.
- Contrasts with the dark armor of the Dark Iron clan: the smoldering blade stands out as a bright splash of color.
- Thematically close to rogue and enhancement shaman characters who role-play a bond with the element of fire.
Tips
1
The most reliable path to the dagger is hoarding Timewarped Relic Coffer Keys: 40 keys guarantee the purchase of a specific appearance, whereas the boss drop is random.
2
Keys drop from every raid boss, so a full clear in a week noticeably speeds up currency accumulation.
3
For transmog, take the version from any difficulty — the model does not change, so there is no point in chasing Heroic mode for the appearance.
4
Enter the raid through the portal in the Caverns of Time and talk to the event coordinator to reach the right bosses.
5
Remember the weekly lockout: re-entering the same boss in the same week yields no loot.
6
Plan your farming ahead — the raid is only available during the anniversary event, and outside of it the dagger cannot be obtained.
7
In a single run you can collect several daggers from the raid if you farm for the whole collection of fiery blades.
