Overview

Gazepiercer

Game iconGazepiercer is an epic one-handed sword added to World of Warcraft with the Shadowlands expansion in patch 9.1. The blade is designed in the "Maw" aesthetic of the raid: dark, jagged metal, bony growths along the edge, and the crimson-grey glow characteristic of weapons from the Maw and the Sanctum of Domination.

The model belongs to the family of the Jailer's blades — the same style as the legendary weapon pieces from the Maw. Thanks to its massive silhouette and cold glow, the sword reads well in hand even at a distance and fits gloomy "dark" looks.

The sword can be used by all specializations that wield one-handed swords, so it is equally fitting for a warrior, a rogue, and a mage or spellblade.

Source

Gazepiercer drops in the Sanctum of Domination raid — a Shadowlands expansion raid opened in patch 9.1.

  • The item drops from the boss Eye of the Jailer, one of the raid's early bosses.
  • It is available on any raid difficulty: Looking For Raid, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic mode. The appearance is identical across all versions.
  • The fight against the Eye of the Jailer takes place on the lower tiers of the Sanctum of Domination; you can reach it along the raid's main route from the entrance.
  • There is no separate attempt limit: the item can be farmed from every weekly boss kill until it drops.
  • Since the content is several expansions out of date, the raid can be soloed by almost any class at level 80 and above, and at Midnight level 90 the Eye of the Jailer poses no threat.

Visual fit

  • It harmonizes with plate and mail sets from the Sanctum of Domination and the Maw thanks to a shared dark palette with crimson accents.
  • It suits looks in the style of the Jailer's forces and the Maw — it looks excellent with armor in shades of blued steel and dark iron.
  • It contrasts with light and golden sets, creating a sharp "villainous" accent — a debatable but expressive choice.
  • It is fitting for a rogue or warrior assembling a gloomy set without bright colors.
  • It pairs with cloaks and capes in cold bluish and purple tones.

Tips

1

The fastest way to get the sword is to enter the Sanctum of Domination solo once a week and kill the Eye of the Jailer on any convenient difficulty.

2

The appearance does not depend on the mode, so there is no point in farming Heroic or Mythic for a "better" skin — pick the difficulty you can clear fastest.

3

In a single run, the Eye of the Jailer may also drop other weapons of the same style, so check all of its loot for the transmog models you need at the same time.

4

For faster farming, classes with high mobility and survivability are convenient: a paladin, demon hunter, or warrior covers the path to the boss noticeably faster.

5

If the item refuses to drop for a long time, remember that attempts are not limited per character — you can farm with different alts within a single weekly reset.

6

Once obtained, the appearance is saved in the wardrobe account-wide and becomes available to any eligible character.
