Jewelcrafting in The Burning Crusade
Jewelcrafting in The Burning Crusade
This is a new profession introduced with the The Burning Crusade expansion. The profession allows players to create rare jewels for socketing into gear, sift ore, and extract precious stones. It is one of the most profitable professions in the expansion, as only jewelcrafters can cut and create gems that grant various stats when socketed into equipment.

Jewelcrafting in The Burning Crusade (levels 300–375)
To level up Jewelcrafting from 300 to 375, you’ll need to gather or buy at auction the following resources:
- 40 × any of these gems: Blood Garnet, Shadow Draenite, Golden Draenite, Chrysoprase, Azure Moonstone, Flame Spessarite;
- 15 × Shadow Draenite or Golden Draenite;
- 40 × Adamantite Powder;
- 10 × Primordial Earth;
- 10 × Adamantite Bar.
300–320
Craft 30 gems using the ones you’ve gathered:
- Gleaming Golden Draenite;
- Shining Shadow Draenite;
- Inscribed Flame Spessarite;
- Luminous Chrysoprase;
- Solid Azure Moonstone;
- Teardrop Blood Garnet.
You can find the recipes for crafting these gems from the trainers where you learned the profession: Kalaen and Tatiana on the Hellfire Peninsula.
320–325
Craft 7 gems using the ones you’ve gathered:
325–335
- 10 × Shifting Adamantite from 40 × Adamantite Powder (sift 200 × Adamantite Ore) and 10 × Primordial Earth.
Save these for later use at skill level 340.
335–340
Craft 10 gems using the ones you’ve gathered:
340–350
- 10 × Heavy Adamantite Ring from 10 × Adamantite Bar and 10 × Shifting Adamantite.
350–355
Further leveling will require you to either farm or buy special gem-crafting recipes from the auction house. We recommend buying them from the auction house, as obtaining the right recipe can be a lengthy process. Try to pick the cheapest recipe among these gems:
The recipe name includes the gem name, so just type the gem’s name in the auction house to find the recipe.
Once you’ve got the recipe, craft 10 gems.
355–360
Continue crafting gems using the recipe you’ve learned.
360–365
Keep crafting gems.
The recipe will turn green, so you’ll need to craft more than 10 gems to gain 5 skill levels.
365–375
Leveling the last 10 skill points will require a lot of effort and resources. You’ll need to acquire one of the following recipes through the specified method and craft items until you reach level 375:
- Design: Prophetic Earthstorm Diamond — sold by Almaador in Shattrath (requires Friendly with the Sha’tar);
- Design: Swift Skyfire Diamond — sold by Paulast’ats in Nagrand (requires Revered with the Consortium);
