Small Green Dagger — Transmog Set Guide

Small Green Dagger is a one-handed dagger of common (white) quality dating back to the earliest days of World of Warcraft. It is a short blade with a narrow edge and a plain hilt: nothing fancy, just the pure minimalism of starter gear. Despite the name, there is exactly as much “green” in it as in any plain iron dagger — the item inherited that name back in the classic version of the game.

The value of this blade is not in its stats. What matters is its look: a clean model that fits perfectly into outfits where the weapon is meant to stay unnoticed.

The item was added back in original World of Warcraft, then removed from loot tables in patch 4.0.3a, and later returned to the game in patch 10.1.7. Its appearance can once again be added to your transmogrification collection and used on any class that can wield daggers.

The Small Green Dagger drops from a rare enemy — a classic world drop from early content.

• The dagger drops from Muad, a rare murloc of level 6–30 who lives in Tirisfal Glades.
• Muad appears on the coast in the north-western part of the zone, around the Whispering Shore, near the water.
• The approximate spawn coordinates are around /way 35.5 43.
• The chance to get the dagger from Muad is about 0.44%, so farming the appearance will require patience.
• Muad is a rare enemy with a long respawn timer (from one to two and a half hours), so you will have to wait between attempts.
• The item is bind on equip, which means you can buy it on the auction house from other players if you would rather not hunt for it yourself.

Since Muad is located in Horde territory, Alliance characters will have a harder time reaching him — it is easier to look for the dagger on the auction house or to roll a low-level Horde character.

This blade is a choice for outfits where the weapon is deliberately pushed into the background.

• It works well for “poor” and peasant looks: simple cloth, leather wraps, no shine of metal.
• It harmonizes with early armor sets of common and uncommon quality from the starting zones — a single minimalist style.
• It is good as an off-hand knife for a rogue or druid when you need a discreet second blade with no glow or effects.
• It fits traveler, hunter, or ranger looks where the emphasis is on the clothing rather than the weapon.
• It contrasts with massive, richly decorated sets — in such a pairing the dagger looks out of place, so for parade sets it is better to pick something more striking.
