Snobold Ripper — Transmog Set Guide

Snobold Ripper is an uncommon one-handed dagger added to World of Warcraft in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. It is a short blade with a serrated working edge and a coarse grip wrap, kept in a cold gray-steel palette that fits the overall northern aesthetic of Northrend.

The name references the snobolds — small kin of the kobolds, servants of the magnataur and regulars of the icy foothills of Northrend. In the game it serves as a generic loot name for the trophies of hunters and trappers of the northern lands.

The item drops from ordinary level 20–30 mobs across Northrend. This is a typical "green" open-world drop: it has no single specific boss or rare mob — the dagger can fall from dozens of regular NPCs across four key zones.

• The main farming zone is Zul'Drak: 22 drop sources, mostly Drakkari tribal and cult mobs around the altars and ruins.
• The second densest zone is Grizzly Hills: 16 sources, mainly Iron rune-smith mobs and Venture Company pawns near the camps.
• Sholazar Basin: 12 sources, primarily jungle fauna — large birds of prey and insects of the sapphire hive.
• Dragonblight: 8 sources, mostly worgs and the inhabitants of the burial mounds in the west of the zone.
• One source from the Ahn'kahet: The Old Kingdom dungeon — the spider-like dwellers of the lower halls.
• The drop chance, per community-compiled data, is a fraction of a percent from any given mob, so it is faster not to hunt one target but to clear dense packs of mobs in any of the listed zones.
• There is no limit on obtaining it: the item can be farmed as much as you like, with no weekly or daily restrictions.
• At max level the farm is completely soloable: Northrend mobs die in one or two hits, and over 20–30 minutes of clearing a single zone a copy is almost guaranteed to drop.
• An alternative to farming is the auction house: the dagger is bind-on-equip only, so on large servers it is regularly listed for a token price.
