Get Aqua Jewel

Aqua Jewel is a Pandaren utility toy built for underwater travel. When activated, it applies the "Aqua Jewel" buff to your character, which simultaneously grants underwater breathing and +50% swim speed for 10 real-time minutes. The item's cooldown is 1 hour, the required level is minimal, and the main limitation is that the effect only works in Pandaria (including all of its zones: the Jade Forest, the Valley of the Four Winds, the Townlong Steppes, and so on).

The item was added in patch 5.5.0 as a regular consumable with no charges. In patch 7.0.3 (Legion, 2016) Blizzard converted it into a Toy Box entry — after the first activation the Aqua Jewel is unlocked account-wide and no longer takes up an inventory slot.

It drops from a single source only — the rare elite jinyu Sahn Tidehunter, who kneels beside the corpse of the giant crab Carapine in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms. The drop chance hovers around 9–10% per kill — one of the most generous rare toys in Pandaria.

• An all-in-one "underwater kit" in a single item. Most Pandaria consumables and spells grant either underwater breathing or swim speed. The Aqua Jewel combines both effects in one 10-minute buff — a unique pairing that no other toy from that era offers.
• Indispensable for Pandaria collectors and archaeologists. Artifact dig sites, chests and underwater rare mobs are scattered across the floors of the Jade Forest and the Valley of the Four Winds lakes. With +50% speed and no breath timer you can sweep them at your leisure without surfacing for air.
• One of the few ways to comfortably clear the bottoms of Pandaria's bodies of water. The +50% swim speed bonus and underwater breathing in a single buff save time on every dive: 10 minutes is a full farming session along the bottom without surfacing.
• Account-wide status. After the first activation the toy goes into the Toy Box and is available on all your characters — on any faction, class and realm. You never have to farm Sahn Tidehunter again on alts.
• Boosts your Toy Box and collection achievements. +1 to the Toy Box brings you closer to Toying Around, Lord of Toys and larger collector meta-achievements.

The toy is obtained only as a rare drop from a single NPC — Sahn Tidehunter. You cannot buy it on the auction house (the item is "Binds when picked up"), and no vendor sells it in the regular game. The only alternative is WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria, where an equivalent can be purchased for the mode's currency, but that option does not work in the main Midnight game.

Step 1. Fly to the Vale of Eternal Blossoms

At max level in Midnight (90), the easiest way to reach Pandaria is:

1. Open the travel chart or use a portal to the Shrine of Two Moons or the Shrine of Seven Stars. Both hubs are located right in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
2. If you have no portals, fly into the capital of Pandaria by any other means (garrison hearthstone, a friend's group portal) — both Shrines are located in the southern part of the zone.
3. No separate prerequisites or campaigns are required to enter the Vale of Eternal Blossoms at max level in Midnight. The zone is fully open for flying.

Step 2. Find Sahn Tidehunter

Sahn Tidehunter is a rare elite level 91 jinyu. He kneels beside the corpse of the huge neutral crab Carapine, southwest of the Mogu'shan Palace. Spawn point:

For mechanics, Sahn uses "Rain Dance" — area damage, "Torrent" — single-target damage every second for 6 seconds, and "Water Bolt" — a regular frost strike. At Midnight level (90) none of these abilities pose a threat: the fight lasts a few seconds.

Step 3. Kill Sahn and grab the drop

1. Fly up to the spot by Carapine's corpse and dismount next to Sahn.
2. Attack him in open combat — there are no adds nearby, it's a single target.
3. He guaranteed drops one of the Mogu-era cloaks: Cloak of the Forgotten Emperor, Cloak of Tranquil Skies, Jade Courier Cloak, Slowdancer's Cape or Tattered Cloak of the Guo-Lai Dynasty, as well as a Small Bag of Goods.
4. The chance for the Aqua Jewel itself is about 9–10% per kill. This is one of the most generous rare MoP toys, but it may still not drop in a single run.
5. If there's no jewel — Sahn is gone until the next respawn. There's no point in "camping": the spot is single, he has no other spawn locations, so switch to parallel tasks (other rares, Pandaria dailies and chests) and check the spot again in 2–3 hours.

Step 4. Activate the toy

1. Open your bag and right-click the Aqua Jewel to add it to the Toy Box.
2. After activation the item itself disappears from your inventory — the toy is now available on any account character via the collections panel.
3. Drag the toy's icon onto your action bar and go "test-drive" the effect on any body of water in Pandaria.

Step 5. (Optional) Parallel farming

• On alts you don't need to farm again — the toy is account-wide and instantly available to all characters.
• In WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria, an equivalent of the Aqua Jewel is sold for the mode's currency. In the main Midnight game the Remix copy is not counted separately — it's the same toy, with a shared account-wide unlock.
• While checking Sahn's spot, gather the rest of the Vale of Eternal Blossoms rares and close out the "Elusive Foes: Vale of Eternal Blossoms" meta-achievement.

• Effect: on activation it applies the "Aqua Jewel" buff to your character, granting underwater breathing and +50% swim speed.
• Duration: 10 real-time minutes.
• Cooldown: 1 hour. The cooldown is individual and not shared with other underwater consumables or enchants — they can be used in parallel.
• Where it works: only within Pandaria. Any attempt to activate the jewel in another part of Azeroth, Outland or Draenor will be blocked by the system. In Pandaria itself the buff works in the open world, in Pandaren dungeons and scenarios.
• Combat forms. In druid forms, the warlock's demonic guise and other transformations the buff keeps working — it is not tied to the character model.
• Stacking with swim speed. The +50% bonus does not stack with other active swim-speed bonuses of the same type — the game takes the best of the available effects.
