Get Blingtron 4000

Blingtron 4000 is a collectible toy from the Mists of Pandaria expansion (patch 5.0.1). When activated, a massive golden goblin robot in dark sunglasses appears in front of you and hands out random gifts to everyone who talks to it. The toy is crafted by a high-level engineer, after which it goes into the shared Toy Box and becomes available account-wide.

The main feature of Blingtron 4000 is not its visual effect but its daily quest: any character can talk to the robot and receive a Blingtron 4000 Gift Package. Inside the package is a random selection of items — from junk and potions to rare pets and mounts that are otherwise almost impossible to obtain.

The robot's flavor text captures its style perfectly: "What's up, my primary bro? Ready to look visually appealing to your kind?" — after this line it applies the "Bling!" buff to your character for 60 minutes.

• A chance at the rare "Sky Golem" mount — the package's top prize. The golem sells for hundreds of thousands of gold on the auction house, yet drops from the gifts for free, though extremely rarely. Other extremely rare rewards on the list include the Mechano-Hog and the Depleted-Kyparite Rocket.
• A chance at the "Lil' Bling" pet — the only easy way to get the Lil' Bling companion, which counts toward pet-collection achievements.
• A daily stream of small loot — even in the worst case you get several potions, Mists of Pandaria gems, and fun items like the Steamy Romance Novel: "My Robot Is My Love". All of it can be used, sold, or disenchanted.
• A social activity — other players often gather around Blingtron to grab a gift as well. It's a great excuse to chat in city channels or share the robot with your guild.

The toy can only be crafted by an engineer who has leveled the Pandaria profession. Without Engineering you cannot obtain the item itself — but you can grab a gift from an already-deployed robot on any character.

1. Level Engineering to 600 overall skill and raise the "Pandaria Engineering" branch to 75. That is the maximum for the Mists of Pandaria era.
2. Buy or learn Blingtron 4000 from an Engineering trainer in Pandaria:
   • Alliance — Sally Fizzlefury at Nesingwary's Safari in the Valley of the Four Winds;
   • Horde — Gao Crystaldew at the Shrine of Two Moons, the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.
3. Gather the crafting materials — all Mists of Pandaria components, obtained on the auction house or through professions (Mining, Jewelcrafting, Alchemy). A detailed list is in the table below.
4. Craft Blingtron 4000 at any Engineering workbench. After creating it, right-click the item — the toy is automatically added to the Toy Box and no longer takes up inventory space.
5. Activate Blingtron 4000 in any suitable location (a capital, a trade district, a garrison) and talk to the robot to take the Blingtron 4000 daily quest. As a reward you receive a Blingtron 4000 Gift Package.

Important: the quest shares a common limit with Blingtron 5000, Blingtron 6000, and Blingtron 7000 — per day, an account can take a gift from only one of them.

All components are standard for the Mists of Pandaria era. The most expensive is Living Steel; the rest are either easy to buy on the auction house or crafted via alchemical transmutes.

The package contents vary heavily by rarity. In most cases you get junk and potions, but once every few hundred gifts a genuinely valuable reward appears.

The robot stays up for 10 minutes after activation; the toy's own cooldown is 4 hours. This means a single deployment is enough for you and several other players to grab a package, after which you can place the robot again somewhere else.

• The toy is activated from the Toy Box. It works in the open world, capitals, and personal garrisons. In raids, M+, arenas, and rated battlegrounds the robot cannot be summoned.
• The robot's duration is 10 minutes. After that it disappears, even if there are players nearby who didn't manage to grab a gift.
• The 4-hour cooldown is shared across all Blingtron-series toys. If you deployed Blingtron 4000, you cannot summon Blingtron 5000 at the same time.
• The daily gift quest is one per account — take it only on your main character or on whoever needs the small loot from the package the most.
• The "Bling!" buff lasts 60 minutes, has no combat effect, and serves purely as a decorative flourish.
