Get Franzok's Headsmasher
Overview

Franzok's Headsmasher is a one-handed mace of epic quality, added to World of Warcraft in the Warlords of Draenor expansion. It is a heavy smithing hammer with a massive striking head, forged in a fiery-red palette streaked with black metal — its look is a direct nod to the workshops of Blackrock Foundry, where the orcs of the Iron Horde forged weapons for war.
In terms of stats it is a mace with Intellect, meaning it is technically a caster weapon, but for transmogrification the role parameters do not matter — what is valued here is the aggressive industrial model. The appearance works well on warriors, paladins, and any class that wields one-handed maces.
Source
Franzok's Headsmasher drops in the Blackrock Foundry raid, located in Gorgrond. The raid belongs to Warlords of Draenor and is cleared without any trouble today.
- The item drops from the Hans'gar and Franzok fight — these are the paired bosses Hans'gar and Franzok, brother blacksmiths.
- The encounter is in the Black Forge wing, in the southern part of the raid.
- The mace can drop on any difficulty — Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, or Mythic.
- This is content from the distant past, so the entire raid is easily soloed at the current level.
There is one limitation: loot from a specific boss is available once per week per character. If the appearance did not drop on this run, you can try again after the weekly reset or farm it in parallel on other characters.
Who It Suits Visually
- It harmonizes with plate sets in red-black and fiery tones — for example, with tier sets from the Warlords of Draenor era.
- It suits the looks of blacksmiths, masters of war, and the "industrial" warriors of the Iron Horde.
- It looks good paired with a shield or a second identical mace for a tank or dual-wielding berserker look.
- It contrasts with dark and shadowy armor, adding a bright red-hot accent to the overall silhouette.
Tips
Enter the raid solo: you do not need a group for transmog farming, the content dies without resistance.
Head straight to the Black Forge wing and the Hans'gar and Franzok boss — you can skip the other bosses if you only need this mace.
It is best to lower the difficulty to Raid Finder or Normal: the chance for the desired appearance does not change, but it clears faster.
Remember the weekly loot lock — loot drops from this boss once per week per character.
Farm in parallel on several characters: this way you stack up your attempts within a single week.
Bring a class with high mobility and good self-healing so you can run through quickly and not get distracted by boss mechanics.
