Ethereum Life-Staff — Transmog Set Guide

Ethereum Life-Staff is an epic two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft in The Burning Crusade expansion. It is a healer's weapon: it carries intellect and stamina, so it was originally wielded by priests, druids, shamans and restoration paladins. Today its stats play no role at all — the staff is valued purely as a transmog.

Visually it is a plain dark shaft topped with a cluster of crystals, kept in the cool blue-violet palette of the ethereals of Netherstorm. The silhouette is clean, without bulky elements, so the staff reads well in a character's hands and never dominates the whole look.

The staff drops from a fight in The Eye raid — this is the raid wing of Tempest Keep in Netherstorm, available from level 30 and requiring The Burning Crusade expansion.

• The source is the third boss of the raid, High Astromancer Solarian.
• The drop chance is around 21%, which is very generous for an epic weapon.
• The boss does not share this staff between several characters and has no weekly limit: you can enter as many times as you like.
• The raid is outdated content and is cleared solo at max level without any preparation.

You can reach it through Netherstorm in Outland: the raid entrance to Tempest Keep is in the west of the zone. The attunement chain for entering the raid was removed long ago, so no preliminary quests are required.

• It harmonizes with cool blue-violet sets — for example, with the cloth sets of mages and priests from The Burning Crusade raids.
• It looks great in ethereal and "arcane" looks thanks to its crystalline head.
• It contrasts with warm gold-and-red armor — a divisive but memorable choice.
• Its clean silhouette fits where the main emphasis is on the armor and the weapon should only complement the look.
