Extinguished Exaliburn is a one-handed sword appearance added to World of Warcraft with the Midnight expansion. This is not an ordinary weapon but a cosmetic effect: the item adds a transmog illusion to your warband's collection, so it is warbound and instantly available to every character on the account.
Visually it is a straight blade in a dark void palette with an extinguished, powered-down glow — a play on the legend of the sword in the stone. The Easter egg is obvious: "Exaliburn" references Excalibur, which the hero draws from the stone.

The appearance is obtained through a hidden treasure quest in the Voidstorm zone — one of the Midnight expansion's locations. No group or difficult fight is required; everything is done solo.
- Find the Exaliburn object — a sword driven into a stone, near the citadel in the southwest of the zone, around the coordinates
/way 28.3 72.9. - Next to the stone, slightly to the left, stands the Potion of Unquestionable Strength object — drink it to gain a temporary buff.
- Under the potion's effect, interact with the sword and pull it from the stone — this triggers the hidden Exaliburn quest.
- For drawing the blade you receive the "Extinguished Exaliburn" appearance in your transmog collection and a small reputation gain with the zone's local faction.
- The treasure counts toward Voidstorm's zone achievements, so it also advances the corresponding achievement along the way.
Without a sip of the potion the sword cannot be pulled from the stone — that is the whole point of the puzzle, referencing the legend of the worthy one who can lift Excalibur.

- It harmonizes with void- and cosmic-themed sets — dark purple and inky armor from the Midnight expansion emphasizes the blade's powered-down glow.
- It fits fallen knight or "king without a crown" concepts: the sword-in-the-stone plays on the legend of the worthy ruler, while the extinguished look adds a touch of tragedy.

Tips
The appearance is warbound, so it is enough to obtain it on a single character — it immediately becomes available to the whole account.

Combine your trip for Exaliburn with clearing the rest of Voidstorm's treasures: they are scattered across the zone and together complete the zone achievement.
The most convenient way to reach the stone is on a flying mount — the citadel sits on high ground, and approaching on foot takes more time.
This is a cosmetic illusion effect, not a full weapon: you cannot equip it as a combat sword, it serves only for transmogrification.
