Malavita first discovered World of Warcraft in Draenor, but truly got into the game with the Shadowlands expansion. Has a soft spot for Demon Hunters and Mages. Considers her main goal to be collecting as many mounts as possible.

Fandral's Flamescythe is a two-handed staff of epic quality, added in the Cataclysm expansion alongside the Firelands raid (patch 4.2). It is an elongated haft crowned with a finial of living flame; the model is built entirely around the fiery theme of Hyjal and suits the look of any staff-wielding mage, priest, shaman, or druid.
The item's main value is not its statistics, which lost their meaning long ago, but its unique effect for druids. When a druid holding this staff shifts into cat form, their model becomes a blazing fire cat — the very one that Majordomo Fandral Staghelm himself turns into during the encounter. Once the staff's appearance is added to your collection, a permanent fiery cat form unlocks at the barbershop, which you can then wear even without the staff itself.
This item is an alternative version with the same appearance as the normal-mode
Fandral's Flamescythe. Both items use a single model, so collecting either one is enough for the transmog collection.
The staff drops from the raid's final boss — Majordomo Staghelm in the Firelands zone on Mount Hyjal.
/way #5723 50.9 72.4.Enter the raid once a week on every druid character: the weekly reset lets you farm the chance in parallel across several characters.
The fire cat effect is visible only while the staff is in hand; after adding the appearance to your collection, you can lock in the form at the barbershop and wear it without a weapon.
For the appearance collection, farm either of the two versions — heroic or normal — since their model is shared.
Cataclysm content is killed solo, so a separate group is not needed; plan on 10–15 minutes for a full run up to the Majordomo.
The appearance itself is account-bound: once unlocked, you will be able to apply the transmog on any character that wields staves.
If the item did not drop, check whether another druid in the group picked it up — the drop is restricted to druid specializations.
