Fanged Tentacle is an epic one-handed dagger from the Old Gods model set, added to World of Warcraft in patch 4.3.0 during the Cataclysm expansion. The blade is shaped like a writhing, spiked tentacle that is animated and constantly sways in the wielder's hand, as if it were a living creature. The coloring is a lilac-purple with bony inlays and a greenish glow, typical of the aesthetic of the Twilight's Hammer and the cultists of the Old Gods.
The dagger is available to any class capable of wielding daggers: rogue, priest, warlock, shaman, druid, mage, hunter, monk, and evoker. The look fits equally well on dark-palette rogue sets and on the "cultist" garb of a Shadow priest or warlock.

Fanged Tentacle drops from the final boss of the Heroic dungeon Hour of Twilight — Archbishop Benedictus. According to Wowhead data, the drop chance is around 15–16% per clear.
- The dungeon is located in the Caverns of Time in Tanaris and is available only on Heroic difficulty.
- The minimum entry level at the time of relevance was 85; in Midnight the dungeon scales and is soloed at max level in a couple of minutes.
- To unlock Hour of Twilight, you must first clear the End Time and Well of Eternity dungeons in sequence — they form a single story trilogy of patch 4.3.
- The drop is personal, with no limit on weekly attempts — farming is possible daily through the dungeon finder or manual entry.
- Archbishop Benedictus is the last of three bosses; to clear up to him you will need to kill Arcurion and Asira Dawnslayer.

- Dark rogue and demon hunter sets with a purple-green palette — the tentacle-dagger reinforces the "inhuman" note of the silhouette.

Tips
The optimal farming class is anyone with stable self-healing and AoE: a brewmaster monk, guardian druid, demon hunter, paladin, or rogue in stealth.
Between bosses there are short stretches with packs of finishing cultists and Twilight mobs — group them up and take them down with mass abilities so you don't drag out the run.
During the phase where Archbishop Benedictus transforms into a Twilight servant, he becomes invulnerable and launches waves of holy and dark magic — step aside from the wave's line, otherwise at low HP you can die even at max level.
The dagger itself is epic (purple item quality), but in Midnight it drops with a reduced item level — there is no point in wielding it as a real weapon; its value is purely cosmetic.
The dagger binds on pickup and cannot be transferred to an alt via a guild bank slot — you need to farm it on the character on which you plan to collect the appearance.
If the drop doesn't fall in a single day, a repeat run is possible immediately after leaving the dungeon with no lockout reset; the drop-chance statistics work over the long run, averaging 6–8 attempts.
It's convenient to combine the farm with running the neighboring Caverns of Time heroics — End Time and Well of Eternity of the same tier drop other armor and weapon models from patch 4.3.
