Get Fang of the Leviathan

Fang of the Leviathan is an epic one-handed sword added to World of Warcraft with The Burning Crusade expansion. Despite being a sword, its stats make it a typical caster weapon: the item grants Intellect and critical strike rating, so it was originally wielded by mages, warlocks, and other spellcasting specializations.

The model is a curved blade with a greenish sea-tinted sheen and a carved pommel shaped like a scaled maw, echoing the theme of the underwater raid it drops from. Its calm, cool palette makes it a handy detail for outfits in blue-green and turquoise tones.

In the modern version of the game the item appears as a level 40 weapon with a level 30 requirement, the result of rescaling the old raid loot's stats. At the max level of 90 in Midnight the stats are irrelevant: the item is taken purely for its appearance for transmogrification.

Fang of the Leviathan drops from a single boss and is obtained through a raid:

• The boss is Leotheras the Blind, the third boss of the Serpentshrine Cavern raid.
• The raid is located in the Coilfang Reservoir at the bottom of the lake in the center of the Zangarmarsh zone.
• The drop chance is around 23%, which is fairly high for a raid transmog.
• The lockout is one visit per week per character, resetting with the weekly reset.

To get inside, you need to swim to the center of the Zangarmarsh lake, dive into the large pump station pipe, and swim through it into the reservoir. The raid portal itself is hidden behind a large waterfall in the center of the cave.

The raid belongs to The Burning Crusade expansion and at the current max level of 90 it is cleared solo without any particular trouble. Leotheras himself could not be defeated in a full group without a warlock holding his demonic form, but in solo mode on a level 90 character the boss dies in a few hits, and that mechanic no longer gets in the way.

This model has no confirmed recolors — the coloring is unique to this item. If you need a caster one-handed sword similar in concept, look at options with a different silhouette but from the same era:
