Get Frostscythe of Lord Ahune
Overview

Frostscythe of Lord Ahune is a two-handed staff in a cold blue-and-white palette, whose model is built entirely around an ice theme: the head resembles a faceted crystal of frost, while the shaft itself looks as if it is coated in rime. This is a weapon for those who wield staves: mages, priests, druids, shamans, warlocks, monks, and evokers. The staff drops only during the summer Midsummer Fire Festival, so it is impossible to obtain outside the event.
Source
The staff drops from the loot of the cold lord Ahune — a seasonal boss who is only available during the days of the Midsummer Fire Festival.
- The event takes place annually from roughly June 21 to July 5. Outside these dates the bosses and rewards are unavailable.
- You don't need to travel to Ahune on foot. The fight takes place in a special festive version of The Slave Pens in the Cauldron of the Seething Womb, and you can get there through the dungeon finder.
- After entering, the group ends up by the Ice Stone, which triggers the boss's appearance.
- For the first kill of Ahune each day, every character receives a
Satchel of Chilled Goods — it is from this satchel that the staff drops with a small chance. - The chance of an enhanced reward applies only on the first kill of the boss per account; subsequent runs give the normal chance.
- The limit is one guaranteed satchel per day per character, so it is worthwhile to farm with several characters at once.
Who it suits visually
- It harmonizes with frosty sets in a blue-and-white palette — for example, in the looks of ice mages and frost priests.
- It pairs with the
Crown of the Frost Lord from the same satchel, forming a cohesive winter set of "head plus weapon." - It suits armor with rime and ice-crystal effects, reinforcing the cold theme of the look.
- It contrasts strikingly with dark or fiery armor — a debatable but memorable "ice versus flame" trick.
- It is fitting for New Year and winter-themed looks assembled for the Feast of Winter Veil holiday.
Tips
Plan your farming ahead of time: the staff is available only two weeks a year, during the Midsummer Fire Festival.
Start the fight with Ahune through the dungeon finder — you don't need to fly to the Cauldron of the Seething Womb separately.
Run the boss every day of the event with several characters: each one gives one guaranteed satchel per day.
The first kill per account has an increased chance for valuable loot — don't skip it.
If the staff doesn't drop, repeat your runs throughout the whole event and in the following years — this is the only way to get it.
Along with the staff, collect the Crown of the Frost Lord: both items drop from the same satchel and combine into a single look.
Keep free space in your bags before opening the reward so you don't lose the dropped items.
