Overview

Frostscythe of Lord Ahune

Frostscythe of Lord Ahune is a two-handed staff that, thanks to its distinctive model, has become one of the most recognizable icy weapon looks in the game. The head of the staff is wrapped in a frosty haze, while a snowy blizzard swirls around its base. Take the weapon in hand and click on it, and snow begins to fall over your character — an unusual detail that most staves lack.

Source

The appearance is obtained during the seasonal Midsummer Fire Festival, which runs every year roughly from June 21 to July 5. During these days, you can summon and defeat Ahune in the Slave Pens dungeon.

  • The fight is launched through the group finder — a dedicated event entry takes you straight to Ahune, so there is no need to search for the entrance manually.
  • After the victory you receive a Satchel of Chilled Goods, and the scythe's appearance can drop from it.
  • Your first attempt of the event on the account gets an increased chance at the reward.
  • If the appearance does not drop the first time, repeat the fight once per day: with each failed attempt the cumulative chance for the item grows.
  • The fight does not require a group at current level and can be cleared solo in a couple of minutes.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It fits looks built around ice and frost magic — especially Frost Mages and Shamans.
  • It harmonizes with white-and-blue armor sets and ensembles built around crystals and rime.
  • It pairs well with the Crown of the Frost Lord from the same event — together they create a cohesive winter look.
  • It stands out against dark or fiery armor if you want to emphasize the cold head against a vivid background.

Tips

1

Plan your hunt for the appearance in advance: you can only get it during the days of the Midsummer Fire Festival, while Ahune is unavailable the rest of the time.

2

Visit Ahune on the very first day of the event — the starting attempt on the account has an increased chance at the reward.

3

If the appearance does not drop, do not skip your daily runs: the cumulative chance grows with each failure and will sooner or later hand over the item.

4

In a single run the satchel can bring several cosmetic rewards at once, so check the entire loot list, not just the scythe.

5

The fight is short, so it is convenient to run it on several characters of the account to raise your overall chance for the event.

6

The appearance unlocks in the appearances collection after the very first time you get it and becomes available to all characters on the account.
