Get Fu Zan, the Wanderer's Companion

Fu Zan, the Wanderer's Companion is a two-handed artifact staff for the Brewmaster monk specialization, added to World of Warcraft in the Legion expansion. It is a tall wooden staff with a rounded pandaren-style finial, wrapped in ribbons and laced with living shoots; the silhouette is soft and "natural," without aggressive spikes or crystals. According to the lore, it is a branch of the tree Fu Zan, which the keeper Freya grew in Pandaria; later the staff was carried by the jade serpent Yu'lon, and then it passed to an unusually clever hozen nicknamed the Monkey King.

As a Legion artifact, the staff has long ceased to be a current combat weapon: the artifact system stayed behind in the previous expansion. Today it is collected purely for its appearance — it is one of the recognizable transmog staves, available to any monk year-round without being tied to a raid season.

An important detail: only a monk can wear the artifact appearance, and it applies to staves. On the upside, all unlocked tints and the hidden appearance stay in your collection forever and are available on every monk on your account.

Fu Zan is granted for the starting Brewmaster monk artifact quest chain. You can still complete it today for the appearance — Legion artifact quests remain available for transmog collecting.

The order of acquisition:

• The monk class hall is the Temple of Five Dawns on the Wandering Isle. This is exactly where the artifact chain begins.
• The specialization's starting quest is called "The Wanderer's Companion": you are sent to the temple hozen and then to the Tian Monastery to the Monkey King.
• The finale of the chain is "The Trial at the Temple": in the Temple of the Jade Serpent you must defend a wounded jade serpent from waves of demons and defeat their leader.
• The reward for saving Yu'lon is the Fu Zan staff itself. The chain is turned in to the class hall steward Iron-Body Ponshu.

• It suits monks built around "natural" and pandaren looks — cloth and leather sets in green, ochre, and warm woody tones.
• It harmonizes with Brewmaster looks built around the theme of the brewery and zen: a calm wooden staff supports the "monastic" silhouette.
• It reads well in monochrome nature looks, where the finial with shoots becomes the single accent.
• It contrasts with the dark "demonic" Legion sets — a debatable but interesting technique if you want the image of a "bright wanderer" amid the corruption.
• The dark combat tints of the appearance suit harsher looks, if the base light variant seems too soft.
