Adorned Vombata

Adorned Vombata is an epic ground mount added in patch 9.2 "Eternity's End" of the Shadowlands expansion. This charming creature has a reddish-ginger coat resembling a vombata, decorated with protoform elements from Zereth Mortis. According to its in-game description, reddish vombatas are considered lucky among the Enlightened — it was a red vombata that was present at their first awakening in Zereth Mortis.

The mount is created through the Protoform Synthesis system in Zereth Mortis. To craft it you need to obtain Schematic: Adorned Vombata, then gather three components: 450 Genesis Motes, 1 Lens of Focused Intention, and 1 Vombata Lattice.

• Unique model — vombatas only appeared in the game in patch 9.2. The Adorned Vombata stands out with its rich red-ginger coat and protoform decorations, making it one of the most striking members of the family
• Guaranteed acquisition — unlike mounts with a percentage drop chance, the Adorned Vombata is created through crafting. Once you gather the materials and the schematic, the mount is yours
• Simple schematic — the schematic is stored in the Gift of Gratitude treasure and doesn't require killing rare enemies or running dungeons. You just need to pet all the anxious animals in a specific area
• Available to all characters — once learned, the mount appears in your collection and becomes available on all characters of your account
• Collector's value — there are five vombatas in total created through Protoform Synthesis. The Adorned Vombata is one of the most vivid in coloration

1. Reach max level and travel to Zereth Mortis — the zone unlocks after starting the patch 9.2 campaign
2. Complete the Zereth Mortis campaign through the end of chapter three inclusive — this unlocks the Protoform Synthesis system
3. Obtain Schematic: Adorned Vombata from the Gift of Gratitude treasure in the southwestern part of Zereth Mortis (coordinates 37.1, 78.3)
4. To open the treasure, pet all the anxious animals nearby: 5 Anxious Vombatas, 4 Anxious Fawns, and 3 Anxious Wolf Pups. After that, the NPC Ta Feng will grant access to the chest
5. Buy a Lens of Focused Intention from the vendor Vilo at Haven for 40 gold (requires Revered reputation with the Enlightened faction)
6. Obtain a Vombata Lattice — it drops from vombatas in Zereth Mortis or can be bought on the auction house
7. Gather 450 Genesis Motes — they drop from most enemies in Zereth Mortis
8. Head to the Protoform Vault in Zereth Mortis and craft the mount
9. Use the resulting Adorned Vombata item to learn the mount

Zereth Mortis is a zone added in patch 9.2 of the Shadowlands expansion. It is located beyond the regular zones of the Shadowlands.

First Visit

1. Make sure your character has reached max level
2. Pick up the starter quest of the patch 9.2 campaign in Oribos
3. Follow the quest chain — you will be automatically transported to Zereth Mortis
4. Complete the introductory tasks to unlock the Haven base and access to world quests

Quick Access (after unlocking)

After completing the introductory quest chain, a permanent portal becomes available:

1. Head to Oribos
2. Use the portal to Zereth Mortis located in the hall of portals
3. You will arrive at Haven — the main hub of the zone

Gift of Gratitude Treasure Coordinates

Schematic: Adorned Vombata

The schematic is located in the Gift of Gratitude treasure on top of a mountain in the southwestern part of Zereth Mortis. To open the chest:

1. Reach coordinates 37.1, 78.3
2. On top of the mountain you will see numerous anxious animals — they run around the area
3. Approach each animal and use the "Pet" ability (it appears when you hover the cursor)
4. Pet them all: 5 Anxious Vombatas, 4 Anxious Fawns, 3 Anxious Wolf Pups — 12 animals in total
5. After the last animal is calmed, the NPC Ta Feng in the center of the area will open the treasure
6. Open the Gift of Gratitude and take the schematic

If you already opened the treasure before gaining access to Protoform Synthesis for mounts, the schematic will reappear at the chest's location.

Lens of Focused Intention

The Lens of Focused Intention is sold by the vendor Vilo at Haven (Zereth Mortis). Purchase requirements:

• Revered reputation with the Enlightened faction
• Cost: 40 gold
• Limit: no more than 2 at a time

Reputation with the Enlightened is built up through completing daily and world quests in Zereth Mortis, as well as through the zone's campaign.

Vombata Lattice

The Vombata Lattice can be obtained in two ways:

• Mob drop — drops from vombatas in Zereth Mortis (including Sorranos, Vombata Matriarch, and Dreadtouched Bull)
• Treasures — has a chance to drop from Olea's Stash
• Auction house — can be bought from other players on the auction house

The drop chance from mobs is low, so the auction house may be the fastest option.

Genesis Motes

450 Genesis Motes are the main consumable material for Protoform Synthesis. The motes drop from nearly any enemy in Zereth Mortis. To speed up gathering:

• Kill packs of mobs in enemy-dense areas
• Complete world quests — you will accumulate a significant amount of motes along the way
• Open chests across Zereth Mortis — they often contain motes as well
