Algeth'ar Academy

This dungeon was added in the Dragonflight expansion and was previously a Mythic Keystone dungeon. The developers have made some changes to the mechanics of bosses and mobs, adapting it for the Midnight expansion. In this guide, we will thoroughly examine all the dungeon mechanics and discuss the intricacies of battling bosses and elite enemies within the dungeon.

Important Blessings

After you start the dungeon, you will arrive at a platform where five dragons await, granting special blessings. These blessings will stay with you throughout the entire dungeon run and do not disappear upon death.

If you haven’t received any of the buffs, the recruiters will be highlighted until you acquire the blessing.

Let’s take a closer look at each of them:

  • Bronze Recruiter

Grants +5% to the secondary stat Haste.

  • Blue Recruiter

Grants a fixed numerical increase to the secondary stat Mastery.

  • Green Recruiter

Grants +10% to healing received.

  • Red Recruiter

Grants +5% to the secondary stat Versatility.

  • Black Recruiter

Grants +5% to the secondary stat Critical Strike.

You can only receive one of these buffs at a time, but you can swap them out for another as needed by speaking with the desired recruiter — the blessing will change accordingly.

Vexamus

Screenshot 2026-02-13 072654-Photoroom.png

Boss’s Main Abilities

  • Arcane Spheres

Arcane spheres begin moving toward Vexamus. If a sphere reaches the boss, he gains 20% energy and deals massive Arcane damage to all players.

  • Wave of Arcane Magic

Vexamus deals massive damage to a chosen target and in a cone area around it.

  • Mana Bomb

The boss curses three group members, dealing Arcane damage every second for 4 seconds. After 4 seconds, the bomb explodes, dealing damage to all players within a 4 m radius and leaving a special Corrupted Mana zone under the player. Stepping into this zone slows the player by 30% and deals massive damage every second spent in it.

  • Arcane Rift

When Vexamus accumulates 100% energy, he deals massive damage to all group members. Then, zones that deal Arcane damage to anyone who steps into them will appear under players’ feet.

Strategy for Battling Vexamus

  • Tanks

Wave of Arcane Magic follows the chosen target, so there’s no need to try to exit the attack radius. Your task is to redirect the damage wave so it doesn’t hit other group members and use defensive abilities to minimize incoming damage.

Arcane Spheres deal damage to anyone who touches them. Try to gather as many spheres as possible so that other players take less damage.

  • Healers

Group members will take constant magical damage, so it’s important to distribute defensive abilities in a way that allows you to quickly heal allies during the Arcane Spheres gathering and after the Arcane Rift ability. If your class allows it, try to dispel all possible negative effects.

  • DPS

The main task for DPS is to gather Arcane Spheres and place the pools after the Mana Bomb ability in such a way that you always have free zones for movement.

Be sure to use your defensive abilities during sphere gathering and before the Arcane Rift to reduce incoming damage.

Crawth

Boss’s Main Abilities

The core mechanic for defeating Crawth is Score a Goal!

After the boss fight begins, two zones marked in red and blue will appear on the platform, along with several balls. Players’ task is to pick up a ball and carry it to one of the zones. Once one of the zones has three balls, a mechanic will activate that both blesses players and adds additional abilities that complicate the boss kill.

  • Red Zone

When you bring three balls to the red zone, the Firestorm ability activates.

Fiery zones will appear across the platform, dealing massive damage to players and stunning them for 5 seconds. The boss himself will receive a debuff that stuns him for 12 seconds and increases damage taken by 75% for the same duration. The boss will also gain the passive ability Scorching Fire, dealing fire damage to all players every 2 seconds until the end of the fight.

The Firestorm ability will also remain active until the boss’s death.

  • Blue Zone

By collecting three balls in the blue zone, you activate the Power of the Storm ability.

Wandering Cyclones will begin to appear on the battlefield, dealing massive damage to players and pushing them aside.

Also, 5 spheres will appear on the platform. Picking up a sphere grants the player a buff that gives +45% to the secondary stat Haste, increases movement speed by +50%, and grants immunity to knockback.

The Power of the Storm ability will also remain active until the boss’s death.

  • Destructive Winds

When Crawth health drops to 75% and 45%, she will summon wind currents that deal damage and push back any player caught in them.

  • Deafening Screech

Crawth curses all players, dealing Nature damage every second for 8 seconds. If a player is casting a spell when the curse is applied, the spell will be interrupted, and the player will be silenced for the corresponding school of magic for 6 seconds.

  • Ferocious Peck

The boss deals massive physical damage to her target, applying a bleed effect for 10 seconds.

Strategy for Battling Crawth

  • Tanks

Ferocious Peck deals very high physical damage. Be sure to use defensive abilities before taking the damage.

  • Healers

After scoring a goal, players will begin to take constant damage. Try to distribute defensive abilities so that you can quickly restore health to group members.

  • DPS

DPS players’ task is to carry balls to the appropriate zones to activate the mechanic. Try to avoid taking damage from the appearing fiery zones and cyclones, and use your strongest abilities during the buff/debuff phase from the scored goal mechanic.

Overgrown Tree

Screenshot 2026-02-13 095432-Photoroom.png

Boss’s Main Abilities

  • Sprouting

For 4 seconds, a special zone appears under players’ feet every second. This zone pushes back anyone standing in it and summons a Hungry Whipper. In total, this ability summons 20 sleeping mobs.

  • Explosive Growth

When the boss reaches 100% energy, he awakens all sleeping whippers, and they begin attacking players. Each attack from a whipper poisons the target, dealing Nature damage every 3 seconds for 9 seconds. This effect stacks.

  • Bark Pierce

The boss deals massive physical damage to his target and increases the target’s physical damage taken by 100% for 9 seconds.

  • Branching
The Overgrown Tree throws one of its branches, inflicting Bark Splinter bleed damage on all group members for 1 minute. After that, a treant appears and starts attacking players.

The treant uses the Healing Touch ability, which restores a massive amount of health to the boss.

After dying, the treant leaves a large zone (Abundance) that restores health to both the boss and group members and removes all debuffs applied by the Bark Splinter ability.

Strategy for Battling the Overgrown Tree

  • Tanks
The tank’s main task is to absorb damage from Hungry Whippers and the treant (from the Branching ability) in a timely manner. The mobs deal massive damage due to the poison effect, so be sure to use defensive abilities and control the mobs if your class allows it.

Pay special attention to the Bark Pierce ability. This ability greatly increases incoming physical damage. Be sure to use a defensive ability or ask allies to use one on you to avoid lethal damage.

Be sure to interrupt the Healing Touch ability of the summoned treant, as it restores a massive amount of health to the boss.

  • Healers
The healer’s main task is to promptly cleanse the tank from the poison effects of the Hungry Whippers.

If your class can apply incoming damage reduction to allies, be sure to do so on your tank during the Bark Pierce ability.

  • DPS
DPS players’ task is to quickly kill the sleeping whippers. The faster they are killed, the less damage your tank will take after they awaken. After they awaken, try to use crowd control abilities on the whippers to minimize incoming damage to your tank.

Be sure to interrupt the Healing Touch ability of the summoned treant, as it restores a massive amount of health to the boss.

Echo of Doragosa

Screenshot 2026-02-13 102603-Photoroom.png

Boss’s Main Abilities

  • Overflowing Energy
Doragosa’s abilities apply a debuff to affected players, increasing their secondary stat Haste by 5%. The effect stacks up to 3 times, but upon reaching 3 stacks, a special Arcane Rift zone appears under the player’s feet. The zone will emit spheres in 4 different directions. If a sphere hits a player, they will take heavy damage and gain one stack of the Overflowing Energy debuff.

  • Energy Release
At the start of the fight, Doragosa releases energy, dealing damage to all players and placing two Arcane Rift zones.

  • Star Breath
The boss selects a random target, turns toward them, and uses a breath attack that deals Arcane damage and applies one stack of Overflowing Energy to all players hit by the ability.

  • Energy Vacuum
When the boss reaches 100% energy, he pulls all players toward himself and creates a 20 m radius zone around him. If a player doesn’t leave the zone within 5 seconds, they will take massive damage and gain a stack of Overflowing Energy.

  • Energy Bomb
Doragosa curses her target. For 6 seconds, an 8 m radius zone appears around the target. After 6 seconds, all players in this zone will take heavy Arcane damage and gain one stack of Overflowing Energy.

Strategy for Battling Echo of Doragosa

  • Tanks
You will receive the Overflowing Energy effect more often than other players. Because of this, you’ll need to position the boss so that the zone you leave provides space for other players to move, and so that Doragosa doesn’t pull players into these zones with the Energy Vacuum ability.

Be sure to use defensive abilities when the Energy Bomb is cast, as it deals significant magical damage.

  • Healers
Players will take steady damage, so don’t forget to promptly dispel negative effects and restore your tank’s health after the Energy Bomb ability.

  • DPS
Try to gain as few Overflowing Power effects as possible. For example, dodge the spheres moving across the battlefield from the Arcane Rift ability. The more spheres you collect, the harder it will be to move around the battlefield and the more damage you and other group members will take.

Elite Enemies

In the dungeon, you will encounter many different enemies that apply various negative effects to all group members. To avoid this, be sure to use spell interruptions and crowd control abilities on groups of enemies. The more time enemies spend under control, the easier it will be to defeat them.

Also, between Boss 1 and Boss 3, you will meet a special enemy that you cannot avoid fighting, as they open the passage to the platform with Kroot.

Screenshot 2026-02-13 091717.png

This mini‑boss isn’t difficult to kill, but requires one very important mechanic.

A massive zone will appear around the mob, covering nearly the entire platform. This zone will push all group members off the platform. The ability cannot be interrupted, and the mob is immune to control. The only way to avoid falling is to stand behind one of the four columns, either on the outside or inside.
