Amber Ardenmoth

Amber Ardenmoth is a flying mount added to World of Warcraft with the release of the Shadowlands expansion (patch 9.0.1). It is a large moth with bright orange, amber-like wings whose silhouette resembles the inhabitants of the ancient grove of Ardenweald. According to the in-game description, its rich orange hue warns predators of its toxicity: anyone who eats such a moth sinks into a dreamless sleep for many years.

The mount drops from Wild Hunt Supplies — a paragon cache that players receive from the Wild Hunt faction each time they earn 10,000 reputation points beyond the rank of "Exalted." Besides the moth, the cache may also contain the battle pet Hungry Gormling.

• Versatility — unlike most Shadowlands drop mounts, the Amber Ardenmoth is both a flying and a ground mount. Its speed scales with your riding skill: up to +310% in the air and up to +100% on the ground.
• Striking model — the fiery orange, semi-transparent wings with a glowing pattern look especially expressive against dark landscapes. Among all the Ardenweald moths, this is the most vivid mount.
• Account-wide — once obtained, the mount is unlocked for every character on the account, regardless of faction or class.
• Relatively forgiving farm — unlike many drop mounts with around a 1% chance, players report obtaining the Amber Ardenmoth within their first few caches. Blizzard has never published exact data, but community estimates range from a few percent to a noticeably higher chance.
• Covenant-free — although the Wild Hunt is tied to the Night Fae, it is accessible to all players. You do not have to join the Night Fae covenant to gather the reputation and obtain the moth.

The only path to the mount is to earn "Exalted" reputation with the Wild Hunt, collect Wild Hunt Supplies from the quartermaster, and open them until the moth drops.

1. Travel to Ardenweald and begin earning reputation with the Wild Hunt. The recommended level is 45 and above
2. Build your reputation up to the "Exalted" rank through local quests, Ardenweald world quests, and the faction contract
3. Keep earning reputation experience past Exalted. Every 10,000 points beyond the cap unlock a paragon quest from Aithlin rewarding Wild Hunt Supplies
4. Open the cache — with some chance, the Amber Ardenmoth will be inside
5. If the moth does not drop, keep farming world quests until the next 10,000 points and receive a new cache

Besides the moth, the Wild Hunt cache may contain the following rewards. All of these rewards drop independently and are not guaranteed.

The Amber Ardenmoth does not require Night Fae status, but it most certainly requires time. In The War Within, all Shadowlands content is considered outdated, so preparing for the farm is simple.

• Character level — at least 45 to enter Ardenweald, and at max level in The War Within (80) the world quests and solo content are cleared effortlessly
• Flying skill — Expert Riding is required to use the mount in the air. At max level this is not an issue
• Faction contract — the Wild Hunt Contract grants additional reputation for every world quest completed in the Shadowlands. The contract can be bought on the auction house or crafted with Inscription
• Night Fae covenant — optional, but it speeds up the farm significantly. Night Fae members earn Wild Hunt reputation from daily covenant quests

Ardenweald is one of the four main zones of the Shadowlands. The easiest way to get there now is through Oribos or directly via the old-content travel system.

1. Open the world map and select the Shadowlands. If the Shadowlands quest chain is not completed, you can activate it in Stormwind or Orgrimmar by enabling Chromie Time for Shadowlands
2. Teleport to Oribos via the traveler's table or via Chromie
3. From Oribos, open Ardenweald through the portal in the Ring of Fates
4. Head to the Heart of the Forest — the central Night Fae hub where the quartermaster Aithlin is located

Where to Find Aithlin

• If you are a member of the Night Fae covenant, Aithlin is located inside the Heart of the Forest at coordinates /way 59.4 32.6
• If you have not joined the Night Fae, Aithlin stands outside, next to the innkeeper, at coordinates /way 48.5 50.4

Fast Reputation Sources

A steady flow of reputation points is important for the paragon farm. The most productive sources in Ardenweald:

1. Ardenweald world quests — the baseline source, 75–175 points per quest. Some world quests have a +175 reputation modifier as a reward.
2. Weekly quest in Oribos — when you choose the Wild Hunt as the reward.
3. Callings — daily covenant quests. They only work for Night Fae members, but provide a substantial boost.
4. Wild Hunt Contract — adds reputation to every world quest completed in any Shadowlands zone. Lasts 7 days.

Time to Reach Exalted

• Night Fae member: roughly 2–3 weeks while completing all available sources daily
• Player of another covenant: 2–3 months due to the lack of the bonus from callings. The contract speeds it up, but not dramatically

After Exalted, every 10,000 points grant one cache. With active world quests and the contract, one cache is earned in about a week.

Multi-Farming on Alts

Unlike many farms, building reputation to Exalted is a one-time procedure per character. Nonetheless, if you have already leveled the Wild Hunt on several alts, each of them gets its own pool of caches. This doubles or triples your chances.

• Keep active world quests running on all characters simultaneously.
• Prioritize the most profitable quests (with +175 reputation).
• Open the cache as soon as you receive it — its contents lose nothing over time.

Daily Routine

• In the morning, check the active world quests in Ardenweald on the map
• Complete all quests with a reputation bonus first
• Use an active Wild Hunt Contract
• If you are part of the Night Fae, don't forget the daily calling
