Get Boreal Spellstaff
Overview

Boreal Spellstaff is a two-handed staff of uncommon quality, added in The War Within expansion together with the Undermine zone in patch 11.1. It is a caster weapon: its stats are tuned for intellect, which is why the model is most often worn by mages, priests, warlocks, shamans, and druids.
The head of the staff is done in a cold blue-and-white palette with icy accents, playing on the name itself. The silhouette is clean and elongated, without excessive ornamentation — a handy, versatile base for frosty and wintry looks.
Source
The Boreal Spellstaff is given as a quest reward rather than dropping from a mob, so getting it is not difficult — the main thing is to complete the right stage of the story.
- The source is the quest Expanding the Plan from the Undermine story campaign.
- The objective has you ride Pamzy's rocket board and blast the pipes with ice — a simple mechanical stage with no boss fight.
- The quest can be completed once per character, so you cannot obtain the appearance again on the same hero.
- To gain access you will need to progress through the patch 11.1 Undermine campaign — the staff comes closer to its middle.
- The appearance unlocks automatically: just choose the staff among the rewards and equip it once.
Who it suits visually
- It fits wintry and frosty looks in a blue-and-white palette — for example, for frost mages.
- It harmonizes with cloth sets in cold shades and snowy themes.
- It looks great in concepts tied to ice elementals and northern magic.
- It contrasts with dark and fiery sets — a debatable but noticeable accent.
Tips
Decide in advance which of the "Boreal" items to take: the quest gives only one reward of your choice.
If you want both the staff and the matching weapon, you will have to look for the second appearance from other sources — the quest cannot be turned in again.
The rocket-board stage is purely mechanical, so a character of any class and specialization can handle the run.
It is convenient to combine obtaining the staff with completing the rest of the Undermine campaign — weapon appearances come as incidental rewards along the way.
After choosing the reward, equip the item right away to lock the appearance into your collection, and you can sell the duplicate.
This appearance cannot be passed to group members or alts — it is personal, so farm it on the character you need.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
