Corrupted Fire Hawk
Overview

The
Corrupted Fire Hawk (Corrupted Egg of Millagazor) is a majestic flying hawk wreathed in purple flame, one of three fire hawks available in the Firelands raid. The mount is a reward for the meta-achievement Glory of the Firelands Raider and arrives by mail immediately after you complete it.
Why You Want This Mount
- Unique model — a purple fire hawk in armor, one of the most striking mounts of the Cataclysm era
- Guaranteed acquisition — unlike drop-chance mounts, the Corrupted Fire Hawk is granted for completing an achievement, so obtaining it depends only on you
- Flying and ground — the mount adapts to your riding skill and the current zone
- The achievement Glory of the Firelands Raider is worth 25 achievement points and counts toward your collection
Mount Source
The
Corrupted Egg of Millagazor is the reward for the meta-achievement Glory of the Firelands Raider. The achievement was added in patch 4.2.0 and became account-wide starting with patch 5.0.4.
To complete the meta-achievement you must finish 12 separate achievements in the Firelands raid: 6 heroic boss kills and 6 special challenges.
Requirements
- A max-level character (level 90 in Midnight) — this is a Cataclysm-era raid and can be soloed without any trouble
- The raid must be run on Heroic difficulty — 6 of the 12 achievements require killing bosses specifically in heroic mode
- There are no quest prerequisites to enter the raid
- Some achievements can be done in a single run, while others will take several weeks (the raid lockout is once per week)
How to Reach the Firelands
- Head to Orgrimmar (Horde) or Stormwind (Alliance)
- Use the portal to Mount Hyjal in the Cataclysm portal area
- After teleporting to Hyjal, mount up on a flying mount and fly south toward Sulfuron Spire
- The raid entrance is in the northeastern part of Sulfuron Spire — a large fiery portal that is hard to miss

Before entering, set Heroic difficulty (right-click your portrait → Dungeon Difficulty → 25 Player Heroic).

Step-by-Step Guide for Each Achievement
Heroic Kills (6 achievements)
At max level, all Firelands bosses die within a few seconds in heroic mode. Just set 25 Player Heroic before entering the raid and kill each boss — the 6 heroic achievements are awarded automatically.
Boss order in the raid:
- Shannox — patrols the territory, appears after you kill enough trash
- Beth'tilac — the spider in the northwestern part
- Lord Rhyolith — the stone giant in the east
- Alysrazor — the fire bird in the central arena
- Baleroc — the guardian by the bridge
- Majordomo Fandral Staghelm — before Ragnaros's hall
- Ragnaros — the final boss (not part of the meta-achievement, but kill him for a chance at the
Smoldering Egg of Millagazor)
Death from Above — Beth'tilac
You must kill Beth'tilac without killing any of the Cinderweb Drones on the upper tier of the web. At max level, simply kill the boss instantly on the lower tier without going up top. Beth'tilac descends at the start of phase 2 — but with your damage she will die before that.
Do a Barrel Roll! — Alysrazor
You must kill Alysrazor while no raid member takes damage from four abilities: Firestorm, Incendiary Cloud, Lava Spew, and Fiery Tornado.
At max level, one-shot Alysrazor right at the start of the fight, before the dangerous mechanics appear. If you didn't manage to kill the boss instantly, avoid the fiery tornadoes (move with them) and don't approach the lava worms in the center of the arena.
Share the Pain — Baleroc
No raid member may receive the Torment debuff more than three times. Solo, this is awarded automatically — when you kill the boss instantly, you won't have time to gain enough stacks.
Not an Ambi-Turner — Lord Rhyolith
You must kill Lord Rhyolith by dealing damage only to his right foot. At max level this is no trouble:
- Start the fight
- Target Rhyolith's right foot
- Deal damage only to the right foot
- The boss will start turning and walk through the volcanoes — after which he transitions to the second phase and is destroyed quickly
Bucket List — Shannox
You must lead Shannox to five locations in the Firelands before killing him:
- The Flameforge — the ramp at the raid entrance
- Beth'tilac's Lair — at the foot of the ramp to the spider
- The Path of Corruption — the path between Beth'tilac and Baleroc
- The Broken Stone — Alysrazor's arena
- The Ridge of Ancient Flame — the slope up to Lord Rhyolith
Shannox patrols the raid territory. Don't kill the trash along his patrol route so Shannox can move freely. Walk him through all five points, then finish him off. At max level you can simply run after him and wait until he visits all locations, then kill him.
Tip: the points register automatically when Shannox is in the zone. Track your progress in the achievement tab.
Only the Penitent... — Majordomo Fandral
This is the hardest achievement on the list when soloing. You must activate all the fire orbs by kneeling (the /kneel command) before they touch the ground.
Before the fight with Majordomo Fandral, in his corridor there is a mechanism with two fire orbs. The idea:
- Approach the area with the two flaming orbs in front of Fandral's room
- Stand next to one of the orbs
- Click to activate the event
- Use
/kneelnext to the orb before the "Kneel Before the Fire!" cast finishes
Solo strategy: to do this solo you need a class with fast movement or the ability to be in two places at once. Proven options:
- Warlock — use Demonic Gateway to instantly move between the orbs
- Mage — use Blink or portals
- Monk — use Transcendence to teleport
Place a teleport point at one orb, run to the second, activate the event, /kneel at the second orb, teleport to the first, and /kneel there. The timer is fairly forgiving.
Important: if your class has no teleport, bring a single friend — each stands at one orb and the achievement is easy to complete.
Farming Optimization
- Time per run: a full Firelands clear at max level takes 15–30 minutes (including waiting for Shannox's patrol for "Bucket List")
- Lockout: the raid has a weekly lockout. You can enter once per week on each character
- Minimum number of runs: in theory all 12 achievements can be done in 1 run if you know what to do. However, if you fail individual achievements you'll have to wait a week
- Class: a Warlock, Mage, or Monk is recommended because of the "Only the Penitent..." achievement. Other classes can complete it with a friend
- Account-wide achievement: progress is tracked at the account level. You can complete different achievements on different characters
Tips and Tricks
- Set 25 Player Heroic before entering. All 6 heroic achievements require heroic difficulty specifically. Right-click your portrait → Dungeon Difficulty → 25 Player Heroic.
- Don't kill Shannox right away. If you need the "Bucket List" achievement, let him walk through all five points. You can kill the trash, but Shannox must be able to reach all the points.
- Macro for /kneel. For "Only the Penitent..." create a macro:
/kneeland bind it to a convenient button. - Track your progress. Open the achievement tab (the Y key) and find "Glory of the Firelands Raider" — you'll see which of the 12 achievements are already done.
- Transmog. The Firelands drops plenty of beautiful tier sets and unique weapons from the Cataclysm era — collect transmog along the way.
