Crimson Dragonhawk

Crimson Dragonhawk

inv_dragonhawk2mount_redCrimson Dragonhawk is a striking flying mount resembling a dragonhawk with vivid crimson plumage. This mount is awarded for completing the Midnight Glyph Hunter achievement, which requires collecting all 42 skyriding glyphs across four zones of Quel'Thalas.

Collecting glyphs is one of the simplest activities in Midnight. All you need to do is fly through glowing circular symbols scattered across the zones. No combat, quest chains, or group content required. A full collection run takes roughly 40-60 minutes.

Requirements

To collect skyriding glyphs you need:

  • Level 80 character with access to Midnight zones
  • Skyriding — the flight system available by default in Midnight zones
  • Completed Midnight intro scenario — this unlocks access to Quel'Thalas zones

No additional prerequisites, reputation, or quest chains are required. Glyphs become available as soon as you enter the corresponding zone.

Midnight Glyph Hunter Achievement

Midnight Glyph Hunter is a meta-achievement combining four zone-specific achievements:

Achievement Zone Glyphs Link
Eversong Woods Glyph Hunter Eversong Woods 11 Wowhead
Zul'Aman Glyph Hunter Zul'Aman 11 Wowhead
Harandar Glyph Hunter Harandar 9 Wowhead
Voidstorm Glyph Hunter Voidstorm 11 Wowhead

After collecting all 42 glyphs the achievement completes automatically and the mount is added to your collection.

Useful Addons

Before you start collecting, we recommend installing two addons that will greatly simplify navigation:

  • HandyNotes: Midnight — Glyphs & Vistas — displays all glyphs on the world map. Collected glyphs are automatically hidden. Available on CurseForge.
  • TomTom — a navigation addon that draws an arrow toward a set waypoint. You can enter coordinates via /way and follow them. Available on CurseForge.

With HandyNotes, simply open the zone map — all uncollected glyphs will be marked with icons. With TomTom, you can copy the coordinate blocks below and paste them via the /ttpaste command.

Collection Tips

  • Optimal zone order: start with Eversong Woods, then cross into Zul'Aman via Amani Pass. After that — Harandar and Voidstorm. This route minimizes flying between zones.
  • Glyph in a PvP zone: one glyph in Voidstorm (Hanaar Outpost) is in a world PvP area. Be careful if you play on a server with active PvP — you may encounter enemy faction players.
  • Height matters: glyphs float in the air at varying heights. Some are atop spires, others are under bridges or in crevices. Pay close attention to the vertical position of the marker.
  • Addons save time: without HandyNotes, searching for glyphs becomes blind zone sweeping. With the addon, each zone takes just 10-15 minutes.
  • Achievement is account-wide: collected glyphs count for all characters. If you found some glyphs on one character, you don't need to switch to another — progress is shared.

Summary

The Crimson Dragonhawk is one of the most accessible mounts in Midnight. You don't need to farm rare mobs, clear raids, or grind reputation. Just set aside an hour, install a couple of addons, and fly through all four zones of Quel'Thalas. The mount will appear in your collection immediately after you collect the last — forty-second — glyph.
