Overview

Crystalline Longbow of the Heavens

Game iconCrystalline Longbow of the Heavens is a cosmetic longbow sold in the Trading Post shop. The weapon is forged from faceted, semi-transparent crystal with a cool sky-blue glow, and its string looks as if it were woven from light. It is a purely decorative item: its item level is 1, it carries no combat value, and it exists solely for the look.

The bow's main feature is its own ammunition animation. Instead of ordinary arrows it fires glowing comet-like projectiles, which is why its description plays on the phrase "shooting star." Only a handful of bows in the game have this effect, and that is what makes the model stand out.

The appearance was added in the The War Within expansion (patch 11.0.5). In the current version of the game, longbows are hunter weapons, so this transmog will be most useful to them. After purchase, the appearance is bound to your Warband and becomes available to every character on the account.

Source

The bow does not drop from bosses and is not crafted through a profession — it is sold for Trader's Tender in the monthly Trading Post shop.

  • The cost is around 150 Trader's Tender; in some months the item has been offered for less.
  • Trader's Tender is earned by completing the tasks on the Trading Post's monthly track: up to 1,000 Tender per month plus a bonus for filling the bar.
  • The bow first appeared in the lineup in December 2024. The Trading Post's selection is fully refreshed every month.
  • If the item you want isn't in the current month, you can't buy it — you'll have to wait until it returns in one of the future rotations.
  • When the bow is for sale, you can freeze it on the shelf so that it is guaranteed to remain available the following month as well.

Who It Suits Visually

  • The bow's crystal-blue palette pairs well with plate sets featuring gems and a blue glow — for example, the dragonflight-themed appearances from Dragonflight.
  • The star-and-comet shot effect supports "cosmic" and "astral" looks — the bow goes well with dark-blue and purple cloth with a starry pattern.
  • The transparent crystal contrasts with heavy dark armor made of black and crimson metal — a debatable but striking combination.
  • Thanks to its cool glow, the bow fits winter and icy sets — a snow-white and silver palette.

Tips

1

Only hunters can wield longbows, so it makes sense to collect this appearance if you have a hunter character.

2

The appearance is bound to your Warband: you only need to buy the bow once and it unlocks for every character on the account.

3

Keep an eye on the monthly Trading Post refresh: if the bow is on sale, freeze it on the shelf so you don't lose it when the selection changes.

4

Trader's Tender does not expire between months, so you can save it up in advance for the item you want.

5

Fill the monthly reward track completely — beyond the current Tender, this grants a bonus reward and speeds up your accumulation.

6

To apply the appearance, after buying the bow update your look at a transmogrifier: the transmogrification itself charges a small gold fee.

7

The unique arrow animation only works when the bow is used as a weapon, not when it is simply stored in the appearance collection.
