De-Raged Waraxe — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

De-Raged Waraxe is a two-handed axe of uncommon quality from the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. It has a massive blade with a cold metallic sheen and a rough, slightly jagged edge, which gives the weapon the look of a genuine combat tool rather than a ceremonial relic.
The axe's stats have long been irrelevant, so its value lies in transmog. The model's silhouette is heavy and squat — it's the recognizable shape of Northrend's two-handed waraxes, which fits well with warrior and berserker looks. The appearance is unlocked account-wide as soon as the item lands in your inventory.
Source
The De-Raged Waraxe is granted as a reward for completing the quest The Champion of Anguish in Zul'Drak.
- The point of the quest is to step into the arena at the Amphitheater of Anguish and defeat Vladof the Butcher, after which you claim your reward from Wodin the Troll-Servant.
- This is a group quest from the Amphitheater of Anguish arena: back when it was current content, the fight was designed for several players.
- The axe is just one of six reward options, so when you turn in the quest you have to deliberately pick this one.
- On a current max-level character (90 in the Midnight expansion), the fight can be cleared solo without any trouble.
- The quest can only be done once per character, but a single successful completion by any character is enough to unlock the appearance.
Who It Suits Visually
- Stern warrior and berserker looks — the heavy blade emphasizes a power-based melee style.
- Plate armor sets in cold grey-steel tones — the axe doesn't clash with the palette.
- Mercenary and monster-hunter concepts, where a utilitarian rather than ceremonial presentation of the weapon matters.
- Contrasting looks in warm tones, where the cold metal of the axe works as an accent.
Tips
Make your way to the Amphitheater of Anguish in Zul'Drak and pick up the arena quest chain — without it you won't have access to the quest you need.
When turning in the quest, choose your reward carefully: the axe is only granted if you specifically select it, and you can't redo the choice later.
On a current character, the fight with Vladof the Butcher goes down fast, so no separate group is needed.
If you've already turned in the quest for a different reward on this character, you can't repeat it — complete the arena on another character instead.
Check your bags after turning in: the appearance unlocks only once the axe is actually in your inventory.
One successful run unlocks the appearance account-wide, so no extra farming is required.
