Get Djaruun, Pillar of the Elder Flame
Overview

Djaruun, Pillar of the Elder Flame is an epic two-handed agility polearm added to World of Warcraft in patch 10.1 of the Dragonflight expansion. It is a massive spear topped with a pillar of frozen magma, rendered in a searing orange-red palette with cracks through which the light of an ancient flame breaks through.
The item's main highlight is its unique on-use effect: the weapon ignites, draws heat from nearby enemies, and makes your melee abilities unleash waves of ancient lava. Because of this visual, Djaruun is prized first and foremost as a transmog: a burning spear with a lava glow remains one of the most striking "fiery" polearms in the game.
Source
Djaruun, Pillar of the Elder Flame drops from Rashok, one of the bosses of the Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible raid from the Dragonflight expansion (patch 10.1).
- The item drops on every raid difficulty — Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic, as well as their awakened versions.
- This is an especially rare drop: the approximate chance from Rashok is around 10–20% per kill, noticeably higher than typical very rare loot, but it still takes some luck.
- The item becomes soulbound on pickup.
- Difficulty only affects the weapon's stats — the appearance and on-use effect are identical at every level, so for transmog purposes it is enough to kill the boss on whatever difficulty is most convenient.
- The raid is outdated and can be cleared by a small group or solo at the current level 90 in Midnight, so farming Rashok poses no difficulty.
Rashok is the second-to-last boss of the raid, so you need to clear the main part of Aberrus to reach him. On outdated content this takes just a few minutes, and attempts can be repeated weekly across several characters.
Who It Suits Visually
- Ideal for "fiery" and "lava" concepts — looks built around themes of magma, flame, and the fire element.
- Pairs well with red-orange armor and sets featuring lava or volcanic textures.
- Suits hunters, druids, and monks in the specializations that can use this polearm, as a bright accent in their look.
- Stands out against dark or black armor, where the searing head becomes the centerpiece of the look.
Tips
The on-use effect works as a vivid "fiery" ability even on old content, so many keep Djaruun for its spectacular visual in combat.
For transmog, kill Rashok on whatever difficulty is most convenient — the appearance does not depend on the raid difficulty.
Visit the boss weekly across several characters to increase your number of attempts at the drop.
The appearance unlocks in the wardrobe immediately upon obtaining the item, after which the weapon can be disenchanted or sold.
Polearm transmog is available to a limited number of classes, so it is easier to collect the look on a hunter, druid, or monk.
If the item does not drop for a long time, remember that it is an especially rare drop — only regular farming delivers consistent results.
