Get Doomwail Reaper
Overview

Doomwail Reaper is a two-handed polearm added to World of Warcraft in The War Within expansion (patch 11.0.5). It is a purely cosmetic appearance: the item is level 1, flagged as a "Cosmetic Effect," and on use it adds the illusion straight into your warband's transmogrification collection rather than occupying a weapon slot.
The model leans into the dark, otherworldly aesthetic of the Void: a long shaft is crowned by a massive scythe-like blade wreathed in cold purple-black light. Visually it is a soul-reaper-themed polearm that echoes warlock and dark knight looks. The constant shadowy glow keeps it striking even in a static pose.
The item's quality is uncommon (blue). The warband binding means that once purchased, the appearance becomes available to every character on your account.
Source
The Doomwail Reaper is sold by a vendor rather than dropping from bosses. You can buy the appearance from Bobadormu, the rewards quartermaster at the World of Warcraft anniversary celebration.
- The vendor stands by the Caverns of Time in Tanaris, on the central platform of the festival grounds.
- The price is 2500 of the Timewarped Badge currency.
- These badges are awarded for Timewalking dungeons, so you can farm them year-round and not only during the event itself.
- The purchase is one-time: the appearance unlocks instantly for your whole account, and you never need to buy it again.
Bobadormu's stock is available during the active WoW anniversary event. If the vendor is not present, the event is inactive — you should wait for the next celebration cycle, while building up a stockpile of badges in advance.
Visual fit
- It pairs well with shadow and necromantic sets in a purple-black palette — the blade's glow reinforces the Void theme.
- It looks great on warlock and Shadow priest looks thanks to the soul-reaper motif.
- It suits dark knight or soul-collector concepts alongside plate armor in grim shades.
- It contrasts with light and golden sets — a debatable combo, but one that creates a "dark weapon in a paladin's hands" accent.
- For specializations that wield two-handed polearms, the scythe becomes the centerpiece of the silhouette, especially in static idle poses.
Tips
Stockpile Timewarped Badges in advance: 2500 add up over a few runs through Timewalking dungeons.
The badges do not expire between events, so you can farm at any time of year regardless of whether the anniversary is active.
Check the anniversary event status before visiting: Bobadormu only appears during the celebration.
Teleport to Tanaris and head toward the Caverns of Time — the festival grounds are right next to the dungeon entrances.
The appearance unlocks for your whole account, so there is no need to buy it on other characters.
Since the item is warband-bound, you cannot resell it at the auction house — the only path to the appearance is buying it from the vendor.
