Energetic Windsteed
Overview

Reins of the Energetic Windsteed is a flying mount added to World of Warcraft in patch 10.2.7 (Dragonflight) specifically for the limited-time WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria event. It is a golden-amber windsteed — a winged beast with a lion's mane and the horns and hooves characteristic of the "Dashing Windsteed" model. The mount belongs to the Windsteed family and shares its model with three "siblings": the
Reins of the Daystorm Windsteed, the
Reins of the Forest Windsteed, and the original
Swift Windsteed from the Blizzard store.
The mount was sold for Bronze — the internal currency of the Remix event — by the vendor Hemet Nesingwary XVII at the Infinite Bazaar and by Khoros on the Timeless Isle. The cost was 6,600 Bronze.
Current Availability
The WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria event ended on August 19, 2024, so in The War Within (TWW 11.1, 2026) the mount is temporarily unavailable for purchase. Blizzard has stated that the event may return in the future, but no exact dates have been announced. If you already own the
Reins of the Energetic Windsteed, the mount stays in your collection forever and is available to all characters on the account.
Why You Want This Mount
- A unique Windsteed model color — a bright golden windsteed with amber wings, not duplicated by any other mount available outside the Remix event.
- Account-wide mount — once obtained, it is unlocked on all characters of your account regardless of faction and class.
- Speed with switching — the mount automatically changes mode on the ground and in flight: +60% or +100% depending on your riding skill on land, and +150%, +280%, or +310% in the air.
- Part of a four-windsteed collection — by collecting the
Reins of the Daystorm Windsteed, the
Reins of the Forest Windsteed, and the
Reins of the Energetic Windsteed, you complete the full set of Remix colors. - Exclusive status — after the event closed, the mount became a rare collectible item that does not drop and is not sold in The War Within rotation.
How to Obtain (during the active event)
During WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria, the path to the mount looked like this:
- Create or use a Timerunner character at level 10 or higher — the Remix system automatically granted the Pandaria campaign
- Accumulate at least 6,600 Bronze — the event's main currency, which dropped from mobs, quests, dungeons, and gear disenchanting
- Find Hemet Nesingwary XVII at the Infinite Bazaar in any Pandaria zone or Khoros on the Timeless Isle
- Buy the
Reins of the Energetic Windsteed for 6,600 Bronze - Use the mount — it is automatically added to your main account collection once the event ends
Infinite Bazaar Location
Hemet Nesingwary XVII worked at every Infinite Bazaar scattered across the Pandaria zones. Each one offered the same selection, so it was enough to visit the nearest one.
| Zone | Location Hint |
|---|---|
| Valley of the Four Winds | Halfhill settlement in the central part |
| The Jade Forest | Eastern foothills |
| Kun-Lai Summit | Near the pass to the Townlong Steppes |
| Townlong Steppes | Northern mossy hills |
| Vale of Eternal Blossoms | Central area of the zone |
| Krasarang Wilds | Kor'vess (Nightmare Wastes) |
| Timeless Isle | At the vendor Khoros |
How to Farm Bronze (during the active event)
When the WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria event reopens, efficient farming of 6,600 Bronze looks like this:
- Completing Pandaria story campaigns — each zone campaign gave large rewards of Bronze and experience.
- Clearing dungeons and raids — Scarlet Monastery, Scarlet Halls, Shado-Pan Monastery, and others.
- Scenarios and heroic scenarios — short runs with guaranteed Bronze for completion.
- Disenchanting gear — surplus gear pieces were turned into Bronze through a special interface.
- Killing rare mobs — on the Timeless Isle and in Pandaria zones, rare monsters gave an increased Bronze drop.
- Achievements and first victories — weekly and one-time achievements added extra currency.
Additional Wares from Hemet Nesingwary XVII
Besides the
Reins of the Energetic Windsteed, the vendor also offered:
Reins of the Daystorm Windsteed for 6,600 Bronze
Reins of the Forest Windsteed for 6,600 Bronze- Many classic Mists of Pandaria mounts — cloud serpents, qilin, Shado-Pan tigers, and others
Tips
Watch Blizzard announcements — the only way to get the mount now is to wait for the return of WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria. Follow the official channels and check The War Within patch notes.
Stockpile Bronze in advance — if the event returns, an active player usually has a surplus of Bronze after a full Timerunner playthrough. Prioritize your purchases: exclusive mounts, pets, armor sets.
Don't buy on the black market — the mount is bound to the account and cannot be transferred between players. Any offers to "sell" this mount are a scam.
Collect the entire windsteed set at once — all three Remix colors cost the same and are sold by a single vendor. Accumulate 19,800 Bronze (3 × 6,600) and close out the series in one go.
Mind the closing date — the original event ran from May 16 to August 19, 2024, a total of 95 days. If the event repeats, start saving currency from the first week so you aren't left without exclusives.
The mount works on all continents — switching between ground and flight mode happens automatically; there is no separate transformation animation.
Check the alternate vendor — on the Timeless Isle, Khoros holds the same stock as Hemet Nesingwary XVII, so it is convenient to buy from any point in Pandaria.
