Gray Elekk

Gray Elekk is a ground racial mount of the draenei, added in The Burning Crusade expansion (patch 2.0.1). The mount is a gray elekk — a massive elephant-like beast, the traditional riding animal of the draenei. It is purchased from the vendor Torallius the Pack Handler near the Exodar on Azuremyst Isle for just 1 gold coin.

• Guaranteed acquisition — the mount is sold by a vendor and requires no random drops. You just need to come to Torallius the Pack Handler with one gold coin in your pocket
• Minimal cost — 1 gold coin. This is one of the cheapest mounts in the game
• Available from early levels — draenei can buy the Gray Elekk as early as level 20, right after learning the Apprentice Riding skill
• Expands your collection — the mount belongs to the elekk family and counts toward mount-collecting achievements
• Unique model for non-draenei — members of other Alliance races get to ride an exotic animal not typical of their faction
• Account-wide binding — once learned, the mount becomes available to all Alliance characters on your account

The main and only way is to buy the Gray Elekk from the vendor in the Exodar. If you play a draenei, the process takes a couple of minutes. For the other Alliance races, you'll first need to raise your reputation to Exalted.

1. Get to the Exodar — the draenei capital on Azuremyst Isle. The fastest way is through the portal from Stormwind or Orgrimmar
2. Enter the ship and go up to the upper ring around the Vault of Lights. At the elekk pens to the north of the trade quarter, you'll be met by Torallius the Pack Handler, labeled "Elekk Breeder"
3. Make sure you have the Apprentice Riding skill learned — this is the minimum requirement for all ordinary ground mounts
4. If your character is not a draenei, check your reputation with the Exodar faction. You need Exalted status
5. Open the trade window with Torallius and buy the Gray Elekk for 1 gold
6. Use the item from your bag — it will teach you the summoning spell, and the mount will appear permanently in your collection

The Exodar is split into several sectors around the central hall of the Vault of Lights. Torallius stands in the northern part of the city, where the draenei animals are kept — next to the elekk pens.

If you don't play a draenei, the mount won't be sold to you without Exalted status. Reputation with the Exodar accumulates slowly, but there are no time limits — you can finish it in one or two evenings at max level.

The main ways to earn reputation:

• Exodar Tabard. Buy the Exodar Tabard for 10 silver from quartermaster Kadu, right there in the Exodar. Put it on and run classic dungeons and those of later expansions — all the reputation from kills in the dungeon will go toward the Exodar
• Tournament daily quests — at the Argent Tournament Grounds in Icecrown, competing on behalf of the draenei, you receive daily quests that give a noticeable boost to your reputation with the Exodar
• Draenei starting zone quests — Azuremyst Isle and the neighboring Bloodmyst Isle contain dozens of quests that grant reputation with the Exodar. This is relevant for low-level characters leveling in these zones

At max level, the easiest way is to put on the tabard and run 5-10 classic dungeons — this is enough to clear the missing reputation levels. If you ever did quests on Azuremyst Isle on a draenei alt or Alliance character, some reputation may already be banked — check the reputation tab before you go.

If you're flying out for the Gray Elekk anyway, it makes sense to check right away which other colors Torallius sells. All six models are independent mounts in your collection, and each gives +1 to your collected-mounts counter.
