Gutwrencher is a one-handed dagger of rare quality hailing from the era of classic World of Warcraft. It has a short, curved blade with a serrated edge on a crude, wrapped grip: the appearance is deliberately "dirty," without ornaments or gem inlays, marking it as the weapon of troll bandits rather than a ceremonial artifact.

In the appearance collection, the dagger fills a recognizable niche. This is not a gleaming elven stiletto but a sinister butcher's knife — the model fits well into the looks of cutthroat rogues, cultists, and pirates. The item carries an "If on character" ability that, on hit, applies Rend to the target — a bleeding wound. This effect does not change the look of the appearance, but it gives the item thematic completeness: a weapon that literally draws blood.

The dagger drops in the Zul'Farrak dungeon and has existed in the game since the very first content set. With the arrival of The War Within expansion and the warband system, the appearance became shared across the entire account: simply obtain the item once on any character, and the silhouette unlocks for all of your heroes.

The Gutwrencher is a drop from a dungeon mob; no separate quest chain or crafting is required for it.

• The dagger drops from the mob Sandfury Shadowcaster — an elite sandstalker from the Sandfury tribe.
• The mob dwells in the Zul'Farrak dungeon, located in the northwestern part of Tanaris. The entrance to the instance is at roughly the coordinates /way 39 20, west of Gadgetzan.
• Zul'Farrak is a dungeon for levels 15-30 when entering through the group finder. An experienced high-level character clears it solo without difficulty.
• The drop chance of the dagger from a single mob is low, but there are several Soul Eaters in the dungeon, so a single run usually yields several attempts.
• The item is bind-on-equip, so you can buy it from another player at the auction house or pass it from character to character if you need the appearance urgently.
• There is no limit on the number of attempts: the dungeon can be re-entered as soon as the internal cooldown on re-entry expires.

• The cutthroat rogue look: dark leather armor in earthy tones, hoods and masks — the Gutwrencher looks like a working tool rather than a ceremonial weapon.
