Overview

Hammer of Righteous Might

Game iconHammer of Righteous Might is an epic-quality two-handed blunt mace from The Burning Crusade expansion. It is a piece of blacksmithing craft with a massive, angular head and a stern silhouette in the spirit of weapons forged by the masters of Outland. The model does not repeat the color schemes of other maces from that period, so its look is easy to recognize among two-handed blunt weapons.

The item's stats are merely symbolic — it stopped being relevant in terms of power long ago and is interesting today purely as a transmog. The appearance can be obtained by any class capable of wielding two-handed maces: Warriors, Paladins, Shamans, and Death Knights.

Source

The item cannot be looted directly from a boss — it is crafted by a blacksmith. To obtain the appearance, you either need the Blacksmithing profession and the gathered reagents, or you can commission the crafting from another player by handing over the materials.

Crafting requires the Outland Blacksmithing profession at skill level 65. The recipe is learned from the item Game iconPlans: Hammer of Righteous Might — a random world drop from regular Outland mobs. The plans are not bound to the character, so you can buy them at the auction house if you do not want to farm mobs yourself.

The finished mace binds when equipped, so an item crafted by another player can be transferred and then have its appearance learned.

The following reagents are needed for crafting.

Khorium and felsteel bars are smelted from Outland ore, while the primal elementals are gathered from elementals in the expansion's zones or bought at the auction house. This is the most expensive part of the collection, so it makes sense to estimate the cost of the materials in advance.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It suits stern blacksmith-themed looks in the style of The Burning Crusade — for example, plate sets with dark metal and muted accents.
  • It harmonizes with armor in steel and graphite shades thanks to the neutral gray-metallic head of the mace.
  • It contrasts with bright "fiery" and "fel" sets — against their backdrop the restrained mace works as a calm anchor for the silhouette.
  • It is versatile for roleplaying a warrior-blacksmith or a crusader paladin, where a solid, handcrafted aesthetic without magical special effects matters.

Tips

1

The plans drop from regular mobs all across Outland with a low chance, so it is easier to track them at the auction house than to farm deliberately.

2

If you do not have Blacksmithing, find a blacksmith through the player search and hand over all the reagents — the finished mace will bind when equipped on you.

3

Estimate the cost of the primal elementals in advance: it is they, not the bars, that usually determine the final price of the appearance.

4

Khorium ore is convenient to farm in rich Outland veins or to buy in bulk at the auction house to avoid overpaying for bars.

5

The appearance is learned from any copy of the item, even one worn just once, so there is no need to keep the mace in your bags after unlocking it.

6

For roleplaying across several characters, remember that a learned appearance becomes available account-wide — you will not have to craft the mace again.
