Hanzo Sword is a rare-quality one-handed sword whose model is a genuine Japanese katana with a curved blade and a round tsuba guard. In a World of Warcraft filled with fantasy axes and broadswords, it is one of the few blades with an Eastern silhouette, which is exactly what makes it a coveted transmog. Players have long nicknamed it the "ninja sword" for its distinctive shape.
The model is a direct nod to the katana from the film "Kill Bill" — the weapon of master Hattori Hanzo, hence the item's name. The appearance suits every class that can wield one-handed swords, and it is prized above all for its clean samurai aesthetic.
Hanzo Sword is a random world drop (bind on pickup) rather than a guaranteed drop from a specific boss. It can drop from a wide range of mobs within the appropriate level range all across Azeroth.
The blade belongs to low-level classic content, so any source mobs die instantly on a modern character. The only challenge is luck, not the fight itself.
For farming, pick a location with a dense cluster of mobs of the right level and clear them in waves — the more kills per hour, the higher your drop chance.
Before a long farm, check the auction house: thanks to bind on pickup, the sword is often for sale, and buying it saves time.
It is most convenient to farm on a class with area damage — this lets you mow down packs of mobs in seconds.
Since the item is a random drop, do not fixate on a single NPC — any mob of the right level will do.
Once you learn the appearance, you have it forever across your entire transmogrification collection.
The sword is one-handed, so it looks great paired with a shield or a second blade for a dual-wield look.
