Heavenly Crimson Cloud Serpent
Overview

[Reins of the Heavenly Crimson Cloud Serpent(
https://www.wowhead.com/item=87773) — a flying cloud serpent mount in a deep crimson color with a glowing white aura, added in the Mists of Pandaria expansion. It is the reward for the Glory of the Pandaria Raider meta-achievement, which requires completing 25 raid feats across three Pandaria raids: Mogu'shan Vaults, Heart of Fear and Terrace of Endless Spring.
Unlike the regular
Reins of the Crimson Cloud Serpent, this mount stands out with a white glow — it looks visually "heavenly," hence the name. At level 80 in The War Within, all Mists of Pandaria content is considered legacy — you take down bosses one-handed and clear nearly every achievement requirement solo without any trouble.
Why You Want This Mount
- A striking flying serpent with a unique white glow — noticeably different from the standard faction cloud serpents.
- The meta-achievement reward grants 315 achievement points — a contribution to your overall collector score.
- The mount is account-bound — available to all your characters, even newcomers with the Apprentice Riding skill.
- A great entry point into collecting Pandaria raid mounts — along the way you'll snag plenty of other trophies: the
Reins of the Thundering Jade Cloud Serpent, the
Reins of the Thundering Cobalt Cloud Serpent from Nalak and other rarities. - All of the content is soloable at level 80 — no group organization required.
Requirements and How to Get There
To use the mount:
- Apprentice Riding — the minimum ground riding skill
- Expert or Master Riding — for flying
To obtain it:
- A level 80 character (recommended for comfortable solo raid clears).
- Completing all 25 feats of the Glory of the Pandaria Raider meta-achievement.
- Raid difficulty — Normal or Heroic mode (Heroic feats are automatically completed in normal mode within legacy content).
How to reach the raids:
- Mogu'shan Vaults — Kun-Lai Summit, north of the Grandstand
- Heart of Fear — Dread Wastes, in western Pandaria
- Terrace of Endless Spring — Vale of Eternal Blossoms, near the Two Moons Peak
All three raids are located in Pandaria — get there via the portal from Orgrimmar or Stormwind to the Shrine of Seven Stars / Shrine of Two Moons.

Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1 — Preparation
Before you go in, install the Instance Achievement Tracker addon — it automatically tracks feats and reminds you of their requirements before each boss. This is a critically important tool for solo farming. Bring along a doggy companion for the first feat (any pet from the "dog" family works: Plagued Hatchling, Wolpertinger Whelp, Fox Kit, etc.).
Enter each raid through the dialog near the entrance — choose Heroic 10-player difficulty so a single run closes out both the normal and heroic feats.
Step 2 — Mogu'shan Vaults
The entrance is at Kun-Lai Summit, north of the Grandstand (coordinates 40, 55). Required feats:
- The Stone Guard — Must Love Dogs — defeat the Stone Guard with an active dog pet
- Feng the Accursed — Anything You Can Do, I Can Do Better... — steal 5 different boss abilities using the Veil of Reflection (Feng's items)
- Gara'jal the Spiritbinder — Sorry, Were You Looking for This? — enter the spirit world and activate the Ancient Mogu Artifact
- Elegon — Straight Six — disable 6 Empyreal Focuses within 10 seconds of each other
- Heroic: Stone Guard, Feng, Gara'jal, Spirit Kings, Elegon, Will of the Emperor — just kill them on Heroic difficulty
Step 3 — Heart of Fear
The entrance is in the Dread Wastes in western Pandaria. Required feats:
- Imperial Vizier Zor'lok — Overzealous — kill the boss while all players are afflicted by the "Convert" effect
- Blade Lord Ta'yak — Candle in the Wind — knock the Windreaver below 20% health before the final phase
- Garalon — Like an Arrow to the Face — defeat Garalon in the Heart of Fear on normal or heroic mode without destroying his legs.
- Wind Lord Mel'jarak — Heroic: Elegon — kill the boss after freeing fewer than three of his companions
- Grand Empress Shek'zeer — Timing is Everything — avoid being hit by "Fixate" during the second phase
- Heroic — five heroic feats on the same bosses + Amber-Shaper Un'sok
Note: solo, all of these conditions become trivial — the boss doesn't have enough health to last even a single phase against a level 80 player in current gear.
Step 4 — Terrace of Endless Spring
The entrance is in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, east of the Two Moons Peak. The shortest of the three raids — just 4 bosses. Required feats:
- Protectors of the Endless — Power Overwhelming — kill each protector while its special ability is active
- Tsulong — Who's Got Two Green Thumbs? — complete the fight without letting Tsulong drop below a certain light level
- Lei Shi — Face Clutchers — kill the boss while keeping at least one Spiteful Spirit within the group
- Sha of Fear — The Mind-Killer — kill the Sha of Fear within the set time limit
- Heroic: Protectors, Tsulong, Lei Shi, Sha of Fear — on Heroic difficulty
Step 5 — Claiming the Mount
Once all 25 feats are closed, the Glory of the Pandaria Raider meta-achievement is awarded automatically. You receive an in-game mail with the mount. Open the "Collections → Mounts" section — the Reins of the Heavenly Crimson Cloud Serpent will be available to all characters on the account.
Farming Optimization
Best Class for Solo
- Demon Hunter — great mobility, fast pulls of the entire raid, Metamorphosis for burst
- Rogue or Brewmaster Monk — for conditions like "Sorry, Were You Looking for This?" the ability to stealth and time things precisely matters; the Brewmaster can also set up a statue tank
- Hunter — the pet helps in several feats (for example, "Timing is Everything"), where you need a non-player tank
- Warlock — a felguard tank and the ability to set survival talents for yourself
Raid Clearing Order
- Start with the Terrace of Endless Spring — only 4 bosses, can be closed in 15 minutes
- Then Mogu'shan Vaults — 6 bosses, the most extensive raid
- Last — the Heart of Fear — 6 bosses, the most intricate feat conditions
This order gives a quick sense of progress: first you clear the short raid, then you tackle the harder ones.
Weekly Lockout
Pandaria raids have a weekly lock. If you didn't close a required feat this week (for example, you forgot the dog pet for the Stone Guard), you'll have to wait for the reset on Wednesday. That's why you should check the feat list through the addon before each run — it will save you 7 days of waiting.
Removed Feats
As of January 11, 2016, the "Show Me Your Moves!" feat on Will of the Emperor was removed from the meta-achievement, and as of January 20, 2016, "Heat It Up!" on the Four Kings. They were the most problematic for solo, so their removal made obtaining the mount much easier. You don't need to complete them — just check that they aren't marked as required in your achievement tracker.
Potential Bonus Trophies
While completing the feats, you also get a chance for boss drops:
- Reins of the Dark Phoenix — a rare drop from Elegon
- Reins of the Astral Cloud Serpent — a rare drop from Will of the Emperor
- Tier 14 armor for transmogrification
Tips
1
The Instance Achievement Tracker addon is a must. It automatically reminds you of a feat's conditions before each boss and tracks your progress. Without it, soloing turns into guessing from manuals.
2
Keep a dog pet on hand. The Stone Guard feat fails if you don't have an active dog out at the moment of the kill. Before the fight, pull any pet from the "dog" family out of your collection.
3
Use 10-Heroic via the dialog at the entrance. This closes out both the normal and heroic feats in a single run — it cuts your time in half.
4
Don't kill bosses too fast. Some feats (for example, "Straight Six" on Elegon or "Sorry, Were You Looking for This?" on Gara'jal) require reaching a certain point in a phase — if you take the boss down before the needed mechanic activates, you'll have to wait until the next week.
5
Check completion after each boss. Open the achievements window (the Y key) and see whether the condition counted. If not — don't leave the raid; retry if it's possible within the current fight.
6
Plan for a 1–2 hour run. At a good pace, all three raids close out in a single evening. If you get stuck on some feat — don't rush, read the condition again and try once more.
