Get Highmountain Elderhorn mount

Highmountain Elderhorn is a ground mount from the Legion expansion, added in patch 7.2.0. It is a large northern moose with massive antlers — the favorite mount of Highmountain tribe hunters, able to leap across the raging rivers of Pinerock Basin even with a full-sized tauren in the saddle.

The mount drops from Highmountain Supplies — a paragon reputation cache for the Highmountain Tribe faction. To get a shot at the drop, you need to reach Exalted with the faction and keep earning reputation — every 10,000 points past the cap grants one paragon cache from Ransa Greyfeather in Thunder Totem.

• Unique moose model — a rare elderhorn moose variant with massive antlers, distinct from the Highmountain Thunderhoof (the racial mount of the Highmountain tauren). It lets you complete your collection of Legion moose models.
• Account-wide — after the first drop the mount unlocks automatically on every character of your account, regardless of faction and class.
• Leveling alongside an allied race — farming reputation with the Highmountain Tribe is also required to unlock the Highmountain Tauren (Highmountain Tauren) allied race for the Horde. One farm — several goals at once.
• Maximum ground mount speed — +60% or +100% speed depending on your riding skill.
• Nostalgic Legion content — the Highmountain guide remains available at level 80 and is well suited to relaxed farming between current activities.

Highmountain is on the Broken Isles — Legion content accessible at any level.

1. Open the map of Azeroth and select Broken Isles → the Highmountain zone.
2. If you have Dalaran above the Broken Isles unlocked, use the portal in the Chamber of the Guardian (Dalaran's portal room) — there is a direct portal to Highmountain.
3. For those new to Legion: pick up the introductory quest A Call to the Broken Shore from the herald in Stormwind or Orgrimmar. It takes you to Dalaran and opens access to the Legion zones.
4. In Highmountain the main player hub is Thunder Totem — a stone totem hovering above the ground in the center of the zone. A lift leads to the second floor.

Step 1. Grind Reputation to Exalted

Reputation with the Highmountain Tribe is earned in three ways:

1. The Highmountain story campaign — grants reputation up to Friendly and is usually completed in 2–3 hours at level 80
2. World quests in Highmountain — the key source of reputation at max level. Each quest grants between 50 and 350 points. They appear on the map after reaching Friendly
3. Daily emissary quest — every few days an Highmountain Tribe emissary becomes active. For 4 completed world quests you receive a reward of 1,500 reputation and a gear cache

From neutral to Exalted is about 42,000 points. Counting the story line and 3–4 emissary waves, the farm takes about 1–2 weeks with weekly activity.

Step 2. Paragon Reputation

After reaching Exalted, reputation keeps growing. For every 10,000 points past the cap a paragon quest appears on the map:

1. Pick up the quest Supplies From Highmountain from Ransa Greyfeather on the second floor of Thunder Totem
2. Turn the quest in there as well — as a reward you receive Highmountain Supplies
3. Open the cache. With about a 3% chance the Highmountain Elderhorn will be inside

Reputation buffs (grind sets, feasts, elixirs) also apply to paragon progress, speeding up the next cache.

Step 3. Repeating and Alts

Paragon progress is not limited by week — you can earn as many caches in a row as you want, as long as there is something to farm. All quests and rewards are also available on alts, so with several characters each one grants an independent shot at the mount.

If you are taking part in the Legion Remix event, the mount can be bought directly:

• Price: 20,000 Bronze
• No chance involved, a guaranteed purchase

This is the most reliable route if the Legion Remix event is active during your playthrough.

Reputation Sources in Highmountain

Reputation Boosts

Apply boosts to speed up each paragon cycle:

• Banner of the Friendly — bought from the quartermaster for 1 gold medal and grants +10% reputation for 60 minutes
• Sets from Dalaran events, drinking sessions in taverns — temporary buffs of +10–15%
• Tauren and draenei racial ability — a passive +10% reputation bonus

Attempt Calculation

At about a 3% chance:

• The average expected attempt is the 23rd paragon cache
• The 90th percentile is around 75 caches
• Each cache requires 10,000 reputation points, equivalent to 30–40 world quests or 6–7 completed emissaries

Parallel Rewards

Highmountain Tribe paragon caches also contain:

• Baby Elderhorn battle pet and other pets
• The "Enchanted Stone Horn" toy
• Large sums of gold and Broken Isles shards
• Transmog gear

This way the mount farm is never wasted — along the way you complete collections of pets, toys, and faction achievements.
