Lucent Hawkstrider — How to Get the Mount from Magisters' Terrace
Lucent Hawkstrider

Lucent Hawkstrider is a ground mount added in the Midnight expansion (patch 12.0.1). It is an updated HD version of the classic Blood Elf hawkstrider in a light, elegant color scheme. The mount drops from Degentrius, the final boss of the Magisters' Terrace dungeon on Mythic difficulty.
Mount journal description: "A faithful creature of the Thalassian nobility, finding comfort within the walls of Magisters' Terrace."

Requirements
Character Level
Magisters' Terrace in the Midnight version is designed for characters level 80–90. Mythic difficulty becomes available at level 90.
Dungeon Access
The dungeon is unlocked in one of two ways:
- Reaching level 90 — access opens automatically
- Quest "Magisters' Terrace: Homecoming" (Magisters' Terrace: Homecoming) — allows entry starting at level 88
No additional quest chains, attunements, or reputation are required.
Difficulty
The Lucent Hawkstrider drops only on Mythic difficulty (Mythic 0) and in Mythic Keystone (Mythic+) runs. The mount is not available on Normal or Heroic difficulty.
How to Reach Magisters' Terrace
The dungeon is located on the Isle of Quel'Danas in the Eversong Woods. The entrance is in the northeastern part of the island.
Quick Path via Timeways
The most convenient method is to use the portal in the Timeways hub in Silvermoon:
/way #2393 42.43 58.34 Timeways Portal (Silvermoon)
Timeways connect portals to all Season 1 Midnight dungeons. Enter the portal, select Magisters' Terrace, and you will appear at the entrance.
Direct Path to the Entrance
If you prefer to travel manually, the dungeon entrance is at the following coordinates:
/way #2424 62.39 14.55 Magisters' Terrace Entrance
Getting to the Isle of Quel'Danas:
- Horde: through Silvermoon — the Blood Elf capital in the northern Eastern Kingdoms
- Alliance: flight from any Eastern Kingdoms flight path or via the portal from Shattrath
Magisters' Terrace Bosses (Midnight)
The updated dungeon has four bosses. The mount only drops from the last one — Degentrius.
| # | Boss | Description |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Arcanotron Custos | An advanced arcane construct maintaining order on the Terrace |
| 2 | Seranel Sunlash | A skilled spellcaster, defender of the Twilight Nexus |
| 3 | Gemellus | A Void creature using void magic to multiply its kind |
| 4 | Degentrius | A powerful Void spawn leading the assault on the Terrace. The Lucent Hawkstrider drops from this boss |
Degentrius Mechanics (Brief)
Degentrius is the final boss who uses powerful Void magic. Key mechanics:
- Void Torrent — streams of dark energy cross the arena; they must be avoided
- Unstable Void Essence — orbs that jump to 4 points. If no player is near a landing point, a group-wide explosion occurs
- Group coordination is critical: assign players to intercept essences in advance
The dungeon is completed by a 5-player group. Full Mythic clear takes approximately 20–30 minutes depending on gear level.
Step-by-Step Guide
- Reach level 90 and unlock access to Midnight Mythic dungeons
- Travel to Magisters' Terrace — via Timeways in Silvermoon or directly to the Isle of Quel'Danas
- Form a 5-player group through the Group Finder (Premade Groups) or with friends
- Set Mythic difficulty — right-click your portrait → Dungeon Difficulty → Mythic
- Defeat all four bosses up to the final one — Degentrius
- Defeat Degentrius and check loot — the
Lucent Hawkstrider mount has a chance to appear among the drops - If the mount didn't drop — try again next week or through keystones
Farming and Optimization
Attempts Per Week
- Mythic 0: one attempt per character per weekly reset (every Wednesday). After killing Degentrius on M0, loot from him is locked until the next week
- Mythic+ (Keystones): additional chances through the chest at the end of the dungeon. Each completed Magisters' Terrace key gives a chance at the mount from the completion reward
Drop Chance
The exact drop chance is not officially disclosed. By analogy with other Mythic dungeon mounts, the estimated chance is approximately 1–2% per attempt. Farming on multiple characters significantly increases the probability.
Farming Breakdown
| Characters | Attempts per Week (M0) | Average Weeks to Drop (at ~1%) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 1 | ~100 weeks |
| 3 | 3 | ~33 weeks |
| 5 | 5 | ~20 weeks |
| 10 | 10 | ~10 weeks |
You can add attempts through Mythic+ keystones on top of this. If you actively run Magisters' Terrace keys, each completed key is an additional chance, significantly reducing the average time to obtain.
Best Class for Farming
Since the dungeon requires a group, class doesn't matter much. However, for faster group finding it's better to play a tank or healer — queue times for them are nearly instant.
Tips and Recommendations
Farm on alts. The more level 90 characters you have, the more attempts per week. Use the Warband system for quickly gearing up alts
Combine M0 and keys. Run M0 at the start of the week on each character, then run Magisters' Terrace keys on your main for additional chances
The dungeon is in the Season 1 rotation. Magisters' Terrace is included in the Midnight Season 1 Mythic keystone pool, so keys for it appear regularly
Watch for drop rate changes. Blizzard periodically increases mount drop rates from dungeons in later patches. Check patch notes
Don't delete your Magisters' Terrace key. If you have a key for this specific dungeon — run it even at a low level for the extra mount chance
