Luminous Starseeker

Luminous Starseeker is a flying mount available for purchase in the World of Warcraft in-game shop and the Battle.net Shop. The mount was added in patch 7.2.5 of the Legion expansion in August 2017.

The Luminous Starseeker is a felsaber, a predator from the planet Argus that hunts by sensing the energy of living creatures. As it approaches a powerful energy source, the felsaber changes color and becomes more agitated. The mount model cycles through three color schemes: black-blue with purple accents, magenta-orange with yellow accents, and blue-neon with purple accents. The color changes every 15–20 seconds.

The Luminous Starseeker can only be obtained through the shop. There is no other way to get it — the mount does not drop from mobs, is not awarded for achievements, and is not available through in-game events.

Method 1 — In-Game Shop

1. Open the in-game shop by clicking the "Shop" button in the game's main menu or using the corresponding icon on the micro menu bar
2. Go to the "Mounts" section
3. Find the Luminous Starseeker in the list of available mounts
4. The price is $25 USD (or the equivalent in your currency). Payment is taken from your Battle.net balance or a linked bank card
5. After purchase, the mount instantly appears in your mount collection

Method 2 — Battle.net Shop

1. Go to the mount's page in the Battle.net Shop
2. Log into your account and complete the purchase
3. The mount will be automatically added to the collection of every character on the account

Method 3 — Buying with Gold (via a WoW Token)

If you don't want to spend real money, you can pay for the purchase with in-game gold:

1. Buy a WoW Token at the auction house for gold
2. Convert the token into Battle.net balance through the game interface
3. Use the resulting balance to buy the mount in the in-game shop

The token's price fluctuates by region, so the final cost in gold may vary.

Bundle with the Twilight Pet

The Luminous Starseeker is also available in a bundle together with the Twilight battle pet for $30 USD. Twilight is a felsaber kitten that, like the mount, changes color. If you like both items, the bundle costs $5 less than buying them separately.

Color Shifting

The main feature of the Luminous Starseeker is its automatic color change. The mount cycles through three color schemes:

1. Black-blue with purple accents — a dark base with a cool purple glow
2. Magenta-orange with yellow accents — a warm palette with a bright glow
3. Blue-neon with purple accents — a vivid blue base with a rich glow

The change happens smoothly every 15–20 seconds. You cannot choose or lock in a specific color — the shifting happens automatically.

Felsaber Lore

According to the mount journal description, felsabers are energetic apex predators of Argus that hunt by sensing the energy of living creatures. A felsaber approaching a powerful energy source noticeably changes color and becomes more agitated. The Luminous Starseeker can change its hue at will, feeding on the energy of the Void, the Fel, and other otherworldly forces.

Felsabers were introduced in the Legion expansion alongside the planet Argus — the homeworld of the draenei, conquered by the Burning Legion.

The Luminous Starseeker is the only mount in the game to use the Argus felsaber model. Even though felsabers are widely present on Argus as wild creatures, no other felsaber mount is available to players. This makes the Luminous Starseeker a truly collectible piece.
