Vicious War Ram
Overview

Vicious War Ram is an epic ground mount styled after a Stormpike clan war ram. The model first appeared in Warlords of Draenor and is still awarded for rated PvP. The mount is available only to Alliance players: the Horde counterpart is the Vicious War Basilisk. The ram wears heavy barding in blue and steel tones, looks massive, and perfectly complements dwarf and human characters. The mount's speed is standard for your riding skill, so its value comes not from stats but from prestige: it proves that you take part in rated PvP and have earned a Vicious Saddle.
Why Get It
The Vicious War Ram shows other players how invested you are in arenas and battlegrounds: its owner has at least one Vicious Saddle, which means a completed progress bar in rated PvP. It is a collector's mount: it counts toward achievement points, adds to your overall mount total, and unlocks access to other vicious mounts from past expansions purchased from the same vendor. If you are gathering the full set of Alliance vicious mounts, the ram is one of the most recognizable models in the collection. The mount also suits roleplay on Ironforge dwarf characters.
Requirements
To obtain the mount you need a level 10 or higher Alliance character who has trained the basic riding skill. To earn a Vicious Saddle in Midnight you need a rating of at least 1000 (Combatant rank) in any rated format: 2v2, 3v3, Solo Shuffle, or Rated Battlegrounds. If you want to keep farming saddles outside of the season, you will need a rating of 1400 or higher achieved in the previous season. First you must obtain the current season's seasonal vicious mount, after which the progress bar resets and, on its next completion, awards a Vicious Saddle. Before heading to the vendor, make sure you have a free bag slot.
Step-by-Step Guide
Level an Alliance character to 90 and acquire combat gear with an item level high enough to enter rated formats.
Open up rated PvP: play practice matches to get an initial rating, and make sure you have partners for 2v2 or 3v3, or are ready to queue solo for Solo Shuffle.
Reach a rating of 1000 or higher — this is Combatant rank, which activates progress on the vicious bar. Win games and accumulate progress points.
Fill the bar to 100 percent. Rough benchmarks: about 40 wins in Rated Battlegrounds, about 80 wins in 3v3, or about 240 wins in 2v2. Formats can be combined.
Obtain the seasonal vicious mount — it is awarded for the first completion of the bar. Without it, the Vicious Saddle will not appear.
Fill the bar again. The second and every subsequent reward is a Vicious Saddle.
Head to Stormwind, to Old Town, and find Necrolord Sipe. Buy the Vicious War Ram from him for 1 saddle.
Learn the mount by opening the item from your bag, and check for it in your mount collection.
Optimization
For the fastest way to fill the bar, choose Rated Battlegrounds: a single win grants the most progress points, and games run less frequently but last longer. Solo Shuffle is a good option if you have no steady partners: the solo queue pops quickly. 3v3 requires a coordinated team, but wins in this format grant noticeably more progress than 2v2. The 2v2 format is worth choosing only if you have a stable partner and a convenient class combination. Play during your region's peak hours so queues are shorter. Watch for PvP week events that boost reward income: progress goes faster during those periods. If you have already claimed the seasonal mount, focus on a single format — this stabilizes your rating and simplifies match planning.

Started playing back in Pandaria, when the pandaren were still a novelty. Got stuck on Monk because it's the only class where you don't get dizzy after a dash. Tries to manage both tanking and kicking enemies in the face.
