Nightstaff of the Everliving is an epic two-handed staff added to World of Warcraft with The Burning Crusade expansion. It is a caster weapon: it carries intellect, stamina, and versatility, which is why it was historically wielded by healers and mages. Today the staff's stats are long outdated, and its value is purely visual — for the look in transmogrification.

The model is a dark headed staff in the spirit of Karazhan's gloomy tower. The silhouette is calm, without bulky effects, which makes the staff a convenient base for dark "magic" and "priestly" looks. The weapon drops from a boss named Nightbane — a summoned undead dragon in the Karazhan raid.

The staff drops from only one source — the summoned boss Nightbane in the Karazhan raid. This is content from The Burning Crusade expansion, so the entire raid is cleared solo without trouble at the current Midnight level.

The main difficulty is not in the fight itself, but in the fact that Nightbane does not stand in the raid by default — the boss must be summoned. This is done with the Blackened Urn, which is activated on the Master's Terrace in the upper part of Karazhan.

To obtain the urn, you will have to complete a quest chain once:

• You need to reach honored with the local faction of Karazhan's keepers — reputation is farmed by simply killing mobs and bosses inside the raid.
• In Karazhan's library you must find Medivh's journal, which drops from one of the raid bosses.
• Additionally, you will need items from two heroic dungeons of The Burning Crusade — from Sethekk Halls and Shattered Halls.
• After finishing the chain, the character keeps the Blackened Urn permanently, with a 30-second cooldown.

After that, the urn can be used every raid reset without repeating the chain. The drop chance of the staff from Nightbane is about 15 percent, so most often the item drops within a few attempts.
