Get Phalynx of Purity mount

Phalynx of Purity is a ground mount added to World of Warcraft with the release of the Shadowlands expansion (patch 9.0.1, November 2020). It is one of four silver-and-gold Kyrian phalynxes — creatures resembling majestic lions clad in armor with anima glowing around their manes. The phalynxes serve as companions to the stewards of Bastion and are part of the iconography of the Kyrian covenant.

The mount is sold for Reservoir Anima by Adjutant Galos in the Aspirant's Crucible — the inner sanctum of the Kyrian covenant in Bastion. The purchase requires renown level 23 with the covenant and 5,000 Reservoir Anima. The "purity" color is a silvery white with blue shimmers, visually the lightest of the four.

• A signature Kyrian mount. The phalynxes are one of the two flagship models of the covenant (the other being the larion lion). Without them your Shadowlands collection stays incomplete
• A complete set of four colors. Phalynx of Courage, Phalynx of Purity, Phalynx of Humility and Phalynx of Loyalty — the four virtues of the Kyrian, each with its own coloring. Collecting all four gives you a cohesive themed set
• Epic versions on top. The regular phalynxes have upgraded counterparts — Eternal Phalynx of Courage, Eternal Phalynx of Purity and others. You learn the regular one first, then the path to the epic opens up.
• An account-wide mount. Upon reaching renown 80 with the Kyrian, the mount becomes available to all characters on your warband, regardless of covenant. This is an important change compared to the start of Shadowlands, when the mount was hard-locked to a covenant.
• Relevant as a long-term goal. Reservoir Anima accumulates in Bastion over the course of the campaign and daily quests, while Kyrian renown grows without a hard cap in The War Within — old content is leveled significantly faster than back in 9.0.

The main path is to join the Kyrian covenant in Bastion, raise renown to level 23, and buy the mount from Adjutant Galos.

1. Complete the Shadowlands intro storyline. In Oribos, take the quest from Mawsworn Ir'ira or wait for the offer to visit all four covenants after finishing the 9.0 story
2. Visit Bastion and complete the zone's story campaign. Upon its completion, the covenant choice opens up
3. Join the Kyrian covenant. If you are already in another covenant, you can switch at the Kyrian representative in Oribos — covenant swapping in current content is free and without penalty
4. Fly to the Aspirant's Crucible — the Kyrian sanctum in the north of Bastion. The teleport point appears automatically after joining
5. Raise covenant renown through the story campaign, weekly quests, "Covenant Callings" and activities in Korthia and Zereth Mortis
6. Upon reaching renown 23, head to Adjutant Galos and buy the Phalynx of Purity for 5,000 Reservoir Anima
7. Use the item — the mount is automatically added to your collection (Shift+P by default)

If you are not in the Kyrian covenant, you still cannot buy the mount: for other covenants, Galos does not display phalynxes in his inventory. To avoid doing double work, join the Kyrian before you start farming renown and anima.

Adjutant Galos sells all four color variants of the phalynxes and their upgraded versions. Each unlocks at its own renown level.

If you are saving up for the full Kyrian set, it makes sense to first buy one phalynx at renown 23, continue the campaign, and by renown 45 collect the remaining variants in parallel. Reservoir Anima accumulates quickly in the later stages of the campaign and is not a bottleneck.

Renown with the Kyrian covenant

Renown in Shadowlands is awarded through specific weekly and story actions.

1. The Kyrian story campaign — each chapter grants 1–2 renown points. In total, the 9.0 campaign grants about 22 levels.
2. Korthia quests (patch 9.1) — the additional campaign in Korthia/Korthia adds several more levels.
3. Zereth Mortis quests (patch 9.2) — "Secrets of the First Ones" and related weekly quests push you up to level 80.
4. Weekly quests — Return to the Sanctum, Covenant Callings and similar quests grant 1 renown point per week.
5. Catch-up mechanic — after one character first reaches maximum renown, all alts receive accelerated gains.

In The War Within, the old Shadowlands content is substantially streamlined: even without the catch-up mechanic, the story campaign of Bastion and Korthia is enough to comfortably reach renown 23 in a few days.

Reservoir Anima

Reservoir Anima is the main covenant currency of Shadowlands, obtained by depositing anima into the sanctum's reservoir.

• Standard quests in Shadowlands zones, especially the Bastion daily quests, grant Requisitioned Anima Cell and similar items.
• These items are deposited into the anima reservoir in the Kyrian sanctum and converted into Reservoir Anima.
• Shadowlands raids (Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination, Sepulcher of the First Ones) in solo mode grant large portions of anima from every boss killed
• Shadowlands dungeons on Mythic and Normal difficulty are a steady source of anima.
• In The War Within, a solo run of any Shadowlands raid takes 10–20 minutes, and the anima reward remains full.

A single solo run of the Castle Nathria raid can yield roughly 1,000–1,500 anima, meaning 5,000 takes 3–5 full runs.

If you are starting from scratch (no Kyrian campaign, no renown, no anima), an approximate plan looks like this:

1. Day 1. Complete the Shadowlands intro campaign in Oribos and the Maw (the Maw). Choose the Kyrian in the final scene
2. Day 1–2. Complete the Bastion campaign and unlock the Aspirant's Crucible. Along the way, deposit all the anima you find into the reservoir
3. Day 3. Complete the first 2–3 chapters of the Kyrian campaign — this grants about 10–12 renown
4. Day 3–5. Push to renown 23 through the remaining campaign chapters and weekly quests. In parallel, clear the Castle Nathria and Sanctum of Domination raids with solo runs to gather 5,000 anima
5. Day 5. Buy the Phalynx of Purity from Adjutant Galos

If you have already completed the Shadowlands campaign and reached maximum renown in another covenant, the scheme is reduced to a single step — switch your covenant to the Kyrian in Oribos, fly to Galos, buy the mount. Renown is preserved after the switch, and the purchase is available immediately.
