Overview

Протазан ненависти

Game iconRanseur of Hatred is a two-handed polearm of epic quality from the Firelands raid, added in the Cataclysm expansion (patch 4.2). It is a long glaive on a massive shaft with a searing, seemingly smoldering blade in a red-orange palette: the model is built around the overall "fiery" style of Ragnaros's raid and fits perfectly with looks tied to fire and the elements.

Originally it was a full-fledged combat weapon with agility and stamina stats, but today Cataclysm content is long outdated, so the value of the ranseur is purely cosmetic. Players farm it for its transmogrification appearance: the striking "fiery" silhouette of this polearm is sought after by warriors and demon hunters.

Source

The appearance is obtained in the Firelands raid on Mount Hyjal.

  • The weapon drops from "trash" — ordinary enemies inside the Firelands raid, rather than from a specific boss, so there is a chance to get it on every clearing run.
  • There is an upgraded, heroic version of the same appearance: you obtain it by exchanging the normal version together with a special token from representatives of the Avengers of Hyjal faction near the raid entrance. The token drops from the raid bosses on heroic difficulty.
  • For transmogrification the appearance of both versions is identical, so for the appearance collection it is enough to obtain either one of them.
  • The raid is outdated content and can be soloed at max level without any particular difficulty, including the final boss — Ragnaros.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It fits perfectly into "fiery" sets: looks built around the element of fire, lava, and flame.
  • It harmonizes with red-orange and black-crimson armor sets — for example, with plate sets themed around the Firelands.
  • It looks great on classes with polearms: warriors, demon hunters, death knights, and paladins.
  • It contrasts with cold blue-and-white sets: a debatable but expressive accent if you want a "burning" weapon on icy armor.

Tips

1

Since the weapon drops from trash, do a full clear of the raid rather than just killing the bosses — that way your chance at a drop is higher.

2

The raid can be reset: if the appearance does not drop, come back again after the weekly reset.

3

The fastest farm is on a class with high mobility and strong area damage, so you can mow down all the trash in a single run.

4

If you have already obtained the normal version, there is no point chasing the heroic one for the appearance — they share the same look.

5

Along with the ranseur, the Firelands drops plenty of other transmog weapons and materials, so a run is rarely completely empty.

6

The content is outdated, so the item level and stats do not matter — the weapon is needed solely as an appearance.
