Overview

Опустошитель

Game iconRavager is a two-handed axe and one of the most recognizable low-level items in classic World of Warcraft.

The item is of rare quality and has an item level of 12, so it is useless in modern combat. Its model, however, remains popular among fans of crude, "barbaric" weapons.

Source

Ravager drops from the boss Herod — the "Scarlet Champion," an elite humanoid from the Scarlet Monastery dungeon in Tirisfal Glades.

  • The source type is a drop from a dungeon boss; no group is required.
  • The axe's drop chance from Herod is around 24%, which makes farming fairly quick.
  • Herod is located in the Armory wing — a large square hall filled with patrolling defenders.
  • The coordinates of the entrance to Herod's hall inside the dungeon: /way 78.5 11.5 Herod's Hall.
  • There is no limit on the number of attempts — the dungeon can be reset and run again many times in a row.

At max level the dungeon can be cleared solo in a couple of minutes on any class, so obtaining the axe is easy even for a beginner.

Who It Suits Visually

  • It harmonizes with heavy plate sets in dark and steel tones — the axe looks great in the hands of a warrior or death knight.
  • It fits berserker and cutthroat-mercenary looks thanks to the crude, aggressive shape of the blade.
  • It contrasts with a paladin's bright "holy" sets — a debatable but memorable choice.
  • It complements the Scarlet Monastery theme: the axe pairs logically with other trophies from this dungeon.

Tips

1

Along with the axe, Herod drops two other notable transmog pieces — inv_shoulder_01Herod's Shoulder and inv_helmet_25Raging Berserker's Helm, so a single run can yield several items at once.

2

The axe is bind-on-pickup, so you need to farm it on the character on which you want to unlock the appearance.

3

The class you farm on does not matter — Herod is killed instantly; movement speed through the dungeon matters more.

4

If the axe does not drop, just leave the dungeon and re-enter — the hourly dungeon reset cap usually does not interfere with solo farming.

5

The appearance is added to your collection once you receive the item; you do not have to wear it at max level to unlock it.

6

The "Whirlwind" effect in the modern game is purely cosmetic and does not affect unlocking the appearance.
