Ravager is a two-handed axe and one of the most recognizable low-level items in classic World of Warcraft.
The item is of rare quality and has an item level of 12, so it is useless in modern combat. Its model, however, remains popular among fans of crude, "barbaric" weapons.
Ravager drops from the boss Herod — the "Scarlet Champion," an elite humanoid from the Scarlet Monastery dungeon in Tirisfal Glades.
/way 78.5 11.5 Herod's Hall.At max level the dungeon can be cleared solo in a couple of minutes on any class, so obtaining the axe is easy even for a beginner.
Along with the axe, Herod drops two other notable transmog pieces —
Herod's Shoulder and
Raging Berserker's Helm, so a single run can yield several items at once.
The axe is bind-on-pickup, so you need to farm it on the character on which you want to unlock the appearance.
The class you farm on does not matter — Herod is killed instantly; movement speed through the dungeon matters more.
If the axe does not drop, just leave the dungeon and re-enter — the hourly dungeon reset cap usually does not interfere with solo farming.
The appearance is added to your collection once you receive the item; you do not have to wear it at max level to unlock it.
The "Whirlwind" effect in the modern game is purely cosmetic and does not affect unlocking the appearance.
