Reclaimed Shadowstrike — Transmog Set Guide
Overview

Reclaimed Shadowstrike is an epic two-handed polearm with a dark color scheme and a massive head shaped like a clawed paw. It is part of a pair of reward polearms introduced alongside the re-release of the Onyxia's Lair raid in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Both weapons are a tribute to the legendary blade Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker: the item carries the effect "Summons a new Reclaimed Thunderstrike," turning into a mirror version with a lightning theme.
The item level is 45 and it requires character level 30, so the silhouette has long been irrelevant for combat and is valued purely as an appearance. The dark charcoal-purple palette makes it a handy base for grim and "shadow" outfits.
Source
The weapon drops from the raid's final boss, Onyxia, a dragonkin in Onyxia's Lair. The raid is located in the Dustwallow Marsh.
- The drop chance is around 3.53% per kill.
- The same fight drops the paired item
Reclaimed Thunderstrike — these are two separate appearances, and both can drop from a single kill. - The raid can be cleared solo without trouble on any class at current level — Onyxia dies in a matter of seconds.
- The boss is available once per week per character, so the farm stretches out over several weeks and across alts.
Alternatives
This appearance has a direct "paired" variant with the same silhouette but a different color and theme.

There are no other known recolors of this exact model. If you need a polearm appearance with a similar silhouette in a dark palette, take a look at polearms from older Wrath of the Lich King dungeons and raids with a similar clawed head.
Visual Pairing
- Suits dark "shadow" and "dragon" outfits — the charcoal-purple palette echoes obsidian-colored plate.
- Harmonizes with cold-toned armor — blue and purple sets emphasize the lightning-dark theme of the pair.
- Stands out in contrast against light or gilded armor — a debatable but expressive accent for a hunter or warrior look.
- Versatile for all classes that use polearms: warriors, demon hunters, paladins, death knights, druids, and monks.
Tips
The fastest way to farm is to enter the raid every week at max level and kill Onyxia solo in a few hits.
If you want to collect both appearances faster, farm them in parallel on several characters: each one has its own weekly lockout.
The paired
Reclaimed Thunderstrike drops from the same fight, so a single visit can close out both appearances at once.
For faster movement through the raid, classes with dashes and high mobility are convenient, but because of the lair's tiny size the difference is almost unnoticeable.
The appearance is bound to the character on pickup, but it is added to the account-wide appearance collection after it is learned.
Don't confuse this item with the classic level 60 Onyxia rewards — you need the re-released raid from Wrath of the Lich King.
